Exactly what I was thinking!

To the OP - if it's Royal Mail recorded or special delivery, they will be able to provide a copy of the signature and the time they were signed for. If it's Royal Mail at fault, then I can;'t see how SEE can say tough. I'd get the info from Royal mail then get on the phone to SEE and not hang up until you have a satifactory solution. Failing that, try the festival office.

Good luck!

I would contact the Post Office to find out exactly where they delivered to and the signature they collected. It used to be that you could put your tracking number into the Royal Mail website and you could see a copy of the signature, but i'm not sure if this is still the case. I would contact the festival office. Due to a monumental f*ck up on our part, our tickets were pretty much destroyed about 10 days ago and I have to say they have been brilliant - the outcome being that we can collect replacement tickets tomorrow morning from the ticket office. I'm pretty sure the festival organisers don't want unhappy punters so if you can prove to them that you haven't received the tickets, then I can see no reason why they shouldn't reissue you with some replacements

Good luck and I hope that you manage to get sorted out

This is not your fault. I would employ all the above tactics but above all I would contact the festival office and explain your predicament in detail. At the end of the day they have discretion to allow you in. get email, fax etc and send them proof that you booked the tickets in good faith. They will be able to get your details out to Oxfam who are already on site and can circulate your details to the Senior Stewards. I've been a Senior Steward and you have a LOT of clout. Believe me, they WILL help you if you are pleasant and sensible. Take proof of purchase, authentication of ID, the Debit card you used, etc - anything you can think of to prove you are the legitimate person on the ticket. Don't hang about feeling shitty - you have the RIGHT to be there this weekend. Don't give up whatever you do. :)

Ring the festival office, that is what I would do. Surely they can do something to help. After all they have helped out all the 'money and no sense' people who have been ripped off by Myhab. ;)

Sorry, that was harsh.

Wasn't harsh just f**kin stupid comment.

What's wrong with having a pre erected tent if you can't arrive until late on site and end up by the shitters?

i booked MyHab. My £395 has gone into someones pocket and because Michael Eavis has so kindly bailed us out at the Festival's expense many worthy causes will now see less of what they would have before this debacle. Now that's harsh.

Have a nice festival.

So which address did they take them to? What does the sig that was provided look like? Have you asked them this? Have you been onto the post office? This isn't going to happen unless you make it happen. Go and kick some @rse!

What address was the tickets delivered too? don't give up, explain its not your fault they used your name, the delivery man should have asked for ID, you have a right to be there. If you give up, more fool you

It's an outrage, they're obviously concerned that you're trying to bullshit them and get extra tickets so a course of action to satisfy all is that your original tickets are cancelled (Reading has tickets with barcodes that are scanned when you get your wristband, I assume Glastonbury does as well) so that the person who now has them can't use them and you need to report to somewhere when you get to the festival with proof ot ID and to pick up new tickets (or other some form of permission to enter) so that you can get in.

The person with your tickets can't use them, you get in since you paid to get in, see tickets fulfill their obligation they agreed to when they sold you entry to the festival. Everybody's happy. I see no reason why there wouldn't be the facility for this to happen, they must have a fallback plan for people who don't receive their tickets.

i hope you get something sorted. what's happened to you is probably our collective worst nightmare, so i'm rooting for you.

it does vary tween the posties/dx drivers how many precautions they take (there are many tales on here of the envelope just being shoved through the door, for example, and one would assume that means the delivery person has faked a sig on their paperwork) but if it is provably not your signature then you deserve to be at the festival.
