Although the footie was on last year i predict that there will still be at least 90% of people wanting to arrive when the gates open. You have to remember that to a lot of people this is the holiday of the year and will want to make the most of it, coupled together will the weather and success of last year. So no sorry no reassurance from me.

90% is going a bit far though surely?

The weather will have a lot to do with determining peoples arrival too. Queuing from 6am wednesday in the sun like last year is a different issues to queueing in the rain!!!

Personally, I don't reckon it will be quite as busy on the Wednesday this year. A lot of people turned up early to get pitched up and sorted before the football.

While there'll still be the diehards queuing at 8am, I imagine that the rest of the day will be more gradual than last year. I think the Wednesday as a whole will probably be nearly as busy as last year, just spread out over the day more.

As for car parks, I think it's hard to predict which ones they use in which order. As far as I know it varies from year to year. I wouldn't bank on being in any one car park. I'd expect the overnight car park for Tuesday to change this year too.

Last two years I've come in on Thursday and just breezed in without queuing at all. A few years ago this would have been unthinkable.

I'm expecting Wednesday this year to be the same as last year.

We're travelling in from Sheffield, and at the moment am expecting we'll be on site around 10.30am Wednesday. We have quite a big tent so can't arrive too late or we won't find a pitch (or we'll just leave the porch unpitched and have to wade through yards of nylon to get into the sleeping bit.)

Think we will come in on the Blue Route, which takes us to the East carparks. Have always parked and camped on the south west side, coming in from the Midlands in the 90s and really would prefer to camp West again, Pennards being favourite, but read somewhere that Blue Route is easier to access and exit carparks. Also from Sheffield Blue Route is most logical.

Anyone got any advice?

When I went to Glasto in the 90s we used to park up at midday Wednesday (when the gates opened) and used to get on the first couple of rows in the carpark and have the pick of the pitches. Thursday was always the busiest day-by Thursday evening the only pitches left were next to the loos!
