Top tips for the resale

I'm lucky enough to have a ticket already but a lot of my mates will be trying on sunday, and I'll be trying on their behalf as well. In preparation for the big day I put together a list of top tips for resale success which I've circulated amongst them, but I thought they might be worth sharing on here too! They're mostly common sense or gathered from other threads on this forum but I reckon its worth having all the tips in one handy thread.

I've done a top 10 but please add anything i've missed below! :) Best of luck to all those trying for tickets on sunday by the way!

1. Start checking the site from about 8:45, they sometimes open the bookings early!

2. Try a variety of browsers. We used firefox, IE, chrome, opera and safari. Opera with ‘turbo mode’ enabled kept getting us through to the ‘queue’ page, although we actually finally got the tickets through internet explorer!

3. I think its best to just have one of each browser window open with 3-4 tabs on each, rather than loads and loads of windows/ tabs, as this might slow down the computer and lower your chances. Obviously make use of multiple computers if you have them.

4. Have your reg numbers, addresses/ postcodes and bank details in a document and double checked beforehand so you can just paste them in to save time when you get through.

5. If you’ve got a smartphone (or anything else) with 3g, use it. It didn’t work for us but I’ve heard some people got through straight away on 3g

6. Don’t waste too much (if any) effort phoning – the people in the call centre are using the same booking system as everyone else so will still have to wait to get the booking page up, and your chances of speaking to anyone are next to nothing! Better to use the time to refresh the page instead.

7. The ‘queue’ page you get through to before the booking page is not a real queue – it just refreshes every 20 seconds and waits for a connection to become available. You’re much better off refreshing/ hitting f5 manually on this page. It might kick you out of the queue page once you’re on it but don’t worry if it does, just keep trying.

8. On the original ticket day there was a bug (?) that meant that once you had completed a booking, you could press back and jump the queue and book more immediately. I didn’t try this and I’m not sure if they will have fixed it but its definitely worth a try.

9. Check efestivals because if anyone finds a backdoor link etc it’ll get posted up on there.

10. If you can, consider VPNing (or even physically going) into work and using their connection as its likely to be a lot faster than your home one!

It worked back in October but it's one of the things Seetickets got heavily criticised for as some people were able to book over and over again for friends etc, whereas others couldn't get anywhere near the booking page despite hours of 'queueing'.

There's a good chance they will have fixed it this time round.

Here is the information needed in the order it comes up once you get that precious page up, handy to get all the information typed into word beforehand to save a typo!! I usually am literally unable to type due to the stress of the situation! I have added it to a few threads already so apologies if you have seen before and I hope its useful!!

screen one

number of tickets

registration numbers for each person

postcode (used for registration) for each person

screen two

confirming the names & the primary postal address, this will default to that of the 1st person entered

screen three

email

email confirm

long card number

start date

end date

issue number (if applicable)

CVV number

contact phone number

screen four

confirms purchase from see

And breathe!!! Then spend remainder of day checking for an e mail as you still don't believe you have a ticket!! :)

Thank you to Spike on Vloody Cloody for this!!

    • Geese playing for 1:20 instead of just an hour was a lovely surprise. The energy was great!
    • Oh well that's why then, I assumed it was still the same. Thanks!
    • Think this will be it...I think they are a level above trees.
