bands you mentioned were gone for years and year, bloc party just never did anything for about 2 years.

got to be honest I would be really disappointed if bloc party are the 3rd headliner surely there are so many more options. I'm still holding hope it's not them but I have to say it looks very likely

MB is a vegan? Bloody hell, makes it even more annoying that's there's fuck all in the way of vegetarian food on-site, every year I live off chips and Saly Army soup, get a few more vegetarian food vans like the one in the arena.

Who? Realistically? I'm struggling to think of who they could realistically book? Ignoring (unfortunately) the possibility of them taking massive risks, or even a small risk, remembering acts who won't/can't play, there's really not that many.

At the end of last year they could have realistically looked to book...

Blur, The Stone Roses, Green Day, The Cure, Daft Punk, Slipknot, System of a Down, Linkin Park

or if you want to go left field; Sigur Ros, The Chemical Brothers, Deadmau5. They're all amazing live and would probably surprise a few with the size of crowd they'd bring. All three could be valid co-headliners with someone too

Blur (only playing London Live), Roses (would they really work at R&L), Green Day (it's been said for a long time about them supposedly not playing R&L again), The Cure (that one's been debated here), Daft Punk/Slipknot (not touring), I'll give you SOAD but the fest has said about moving away from rockier/heavier stuff, LP have played in England every year for the last five.

With regards to some of them, and the rest you mentioned, I did say discounting them taking risks, which I just can't see FR doing anymore.

There's really not that many headliners who are: a. avaliable and b. in keeping with the direction of what FR want for the festival.

That said, I'd love them to take risks and go for someone a little bit different. It's not going to happen though, and I think the group of headliners R&L have to choose from will get smaller and smaller. It's also damaged this year, as mentioned, through other circumstances such as the financial crisis etc. I think if Kasabian, Bloc Party and Foo's are headliners, it's an awful set of headliners, but there's really not that many avaliable.

I know it's a long shot but what about Rage Against the Machine? They've got an album coming out I think. The last played 4 years ago which is long enough seeing as the Killers were rumoured and they were here 4 years ago.

How so? He's essentially ignored all the advice given to him by fans so it's difficult to have sympathy with him if he's taking poor ticket sales personally. He's not very popular with the locals near the Leeds site either, in fact he's extremely unpopular due to the way he's dealt with certain issues in the past. He comes across like a corporate crook, always dodging the truth and attempting to mislead fans, especially regarding the financials.

Anyone on here who's been to Leeds/Reading in the past five years can tell you how much food and drinks prices have risen yet here he says otherwise. He could just be oblivious to it all of course, but I doubt it. I also find the food selections at Leeds very confusing given that he's a vegan. There's one vegan stand and it's always got a queue. This has been mentioned and yet nothing's been done.

I struggle to understand what goes through his head a lot of the time regarding the festival. It got progressively worse for five years (whilst ticket prices and other costs have risen). Last year was a marginal improvement, but there were still major issues.

Mumford just aren't big enough, at all, so they can be removed.

Eminem has nothing to tour and isn't so he can be ruled out.

Coldplay and The Throne have got there own shows, and pretty big ones at that this summer so they're as good as out.

Plus Radiohead said a while back no to UK festivals this summer as it feels more right to tour arenas this time.
