I always think you can't judge a band at events like the Brits. Its the same with Radio One's big weekend. You get the impression the bands really don't want to be there and therefore but zero effort in at all.

Not sure about Coldplay but your comments on V are spot on. The type of people who go there are twats who wear Chinos and bang on about "BANTER with the LADS!", and female TOWIE wannabes who think they're supermodels because they wear short dresses and fake tan, and these people only like whatever manufactured shit is in the charts. They're the sort of people you'd see in any shitty soulless mainstream club anywhere in the country on a Saturday night, and they'd have been at Reading and Leeds five years ago when Indie was the in-thing to like.

It's a shame that The Stone Roses is playing there because such a crowd doesn't deserve a band with a legendary stigma attached to it, and I can bet when they break into Fool's Gold there'll be a few people saying "wow, they're covering Example!", and those are the ones who aren't using the fact they're watching the Roses as a means of asserting their LADdishness. Whereas I feel they'd be a bit more appreciated at Reading and Leeds as here it's become a bit less trendy these past few years and seems to have returned to people going for the music rather than to be seen.

I've had people on Twitter saying Adele is a better performer than Blur....

And yeah it was a pretty tame performance from Blur but like people have said playing a couple of songs at an awards ceremony isn't really a testament to your credentials as a live band. Just ask anyone who was there at that Glasto '09 performance, including yours truly.
