Dont think Link Parfk will headline next year, if even play again. 2003, 8 years ago was the last one. I feel if they were going to do it again they would've this year instead of Download for the 3 time in a row.

Kinda same as Green Day, more money for them out of playing big stadium dates, haven't played since 2004, don't see them ever doing it again.

I'm still sure it'll be Bloc Party - Not going to take a sub again I doubt. Nme head, 3rd then 2nd in 09. If they're next album is huge, I think they'll headline.

Kasabian - Reading people wanted them for ages and not going to take a sub obvs.

Foo Fighters - People know its going to happen, kinda fits in with a QOTSA appearance.

I think System will plat Sonisphere if they do any. More attractive crowd for them and they'll offer a better package most likely that Reading will. I'm seeing them this year so wouldn't be too bothered.

Bloc Party

Kaiser Chiefs

Kasabian

Foo Fighters

QOTSA

Would be a early thought.

Bloc Could play 2nd at a push and Kaiser's 3rd or under Kasabian, they are at V, saying that V pay a lot more and often have both headline and sub as potential headline on their own. FR are a light tighter as we know

Of course pigs will also start flying, bankers will become responsible and my ex will give me back the money she owes me. But its fun to pretend.

does anyone think next year will be a strong lineup but just something that's all been seen before?

Incubus could easily do download now as they have just re-appeared.

The Prodigy also could.

I think Yeah Yeah Yeah's will make their return to R+L, as will probs Prophets.

Billy Talent needs a break from it.

Bloc Party I expect back, as do I Vampire Weekend.

A7X, You me at 6, Death Cab, Subways are obvious one's and the Kasabian and Foo's returning just about done deal I'd have said. But still Green Day I do not expect. All them 3 headliners would prob demand more than the cheapest headliner would need.

Next year is very hard to judge, it really could go either way. Festival Republic really need to do something special as another poor year would be dreadful for them. There's so many other fests now they could easily drop down the pecking order when it comes to fests. They need a good mixture of big hitters, acst a bit different, the cream of new acts and some real exclusives. If they get the mix right then they'll sell out no problem, fail and it could be the same as this year.

Personally I think it'll be a cracking line up, they must realise they've not pulled it off this year and will go all out next year especially with no Glasto. I look forward to finding out.

    • I got super early bird too....i was that chuffed i ticked a couple of the charity contribution boxes
    • I would be very surprised as well if they are are European Festivals and Werchter isn't one of them. They have done Roskilde before but with big gaps   They have done NOS once and they have done Mad Cool once while playing 3 times at Werchter during the period Mad Cool has ran.
    • Whole thing seems a bit sus to me.
    • wtf. Those Moroccons in Cueta can't just go into EU anyway, they would need to go through further checks before Schengen.
