If this is the type of wine you are looking for I would probably suggest a Rioja. Tiers III or Berberana are a good medium price but still probably not cheap enough for festivals and I am not sure they do them in a box

i think the words 'warm' and 'lager' dont do together at all. Last year i took two boxes of westerns organic, that was alright warm.

where possible i get a cold drink from the bars. shame they wont sell cold cans, then you cold stock up

The trick of sticking beer under your ground sheet at night really does work - come the morning, they are all nicely chilled. I stick with cans of bitter (the non-creamflow sort of course) as I can only drink lager really cold. Few beers at the bars during the day and then stick some of the cans into this baby for wandering round later/watching bands:

Theres always the on site shops that sell cordial like lime etc. Towards the end of the festival last year i started drinking a mouthful out of the can and topping it up with lime cordial, greatly improves the flavour when warm.

I always take Gaymers Pear Cider, its slightly flat and for some reason when its warm it still tastes nice, dont know if the flatness has anything to do with it but tastes nicer than the Gaymers original.

I had vodka / soft drinks last year. I'd already given up on cans.

It was quite a strong mix, but nothing I wouldn't normally have at a festival. However on the Saturday I remember trying to drink it as I was pretty much sober and wanted to jump about for Biffy Clyro. It was a scorcher of a day and my drink was roasting. I remember it felt like I was drinking fire.

In the end I had to pour it out and fill my bottle with water to save me a 2 mile walk back to my tent and / or a dehydration problem.

It really was too hot to drink anything and enjoy it... other than the drinks on site.

TBH. I think the drinks onsite are good value, especially the Brothers, and if you can you should travel light and buy more drinks there. At all festivals I end up taking too many cans and rarely drink them all.

Also, would say cans of cider are probably more drinkable warm, than any lager.

We always take a few cases of lager but just couldn't stomach them after midday.. just too hot. They did last us each morning till dinnertime though as they remained quite cool from the night before. Nothing worse than warm beer though urrrrghhh!

Not a big cider drinker (aprart from Brothers obviously) but ended up sharing some Gaymers/Strongbow with my mates which was surprisingly drinkable when warm. Only problem is it's generally stronger than lager so i was twatted sooner than i'd liked on a couple of days . Will see what the weather forecast is before making my purchases this year

beer made in overly shiny cans with odd lettering BEWARE. its the sort of beer you buy on the cheap coz its pretty strong. THEN you start by saying hmm "this isen't so bad" but after about 5 or 6 they start to make u feel propper grim and give you the shits.

Would love to be a full on cider drinker, had some lovely pints last yaer, but I can only ever manage 2 or 3 before my stomach starts to give out warnings.

Any more and I'd be spending far more time in the long drops than I'd like!

1, if someone came up to me an said "would you like a can of oranjeboom" i would think they were mental in the mind.

2, of all the things poland is good for, mainly war and fish. lager would be the last thing i think of.

Me and a mate did the glasto 'Warm beer challenge' a couple of years ago and it worked a treat.

Me, bitter drinker, plumbed for Cains Bitter and my mate chose Peeterman Artois which is a 4% stella. Both beers were more than drinkable.

Although I must admit I did struggle last year trying to get through 72 cans, some are still in the garage lol.

We tend to bring a cool box and stock it with cold water once the ice melts, that works to a point, but if we're talking warm beer, I went with Guinness for the first time last year as I'm a Guinness drinker in the pub and the results were encouraging, prior to that I'd always gone with Red Stripe, which, for lager drinkers is also more than drinkable when luke warm.
