5.Shed Seven - The After Dark, Reading - 1994ish - I'll explain this one (as quickly as I can) as it probably seems a bit weird to lots of you. Two months earlier I'd seen Compulsion supported by Shed Seven at the same venue. They hadn't yet released anything at all and we didn't know who they were. Rick came over to me and my mate and borrowed 50p off him to get some fags. When we went to see them at the later gig we found him (the club had no real backstage area so all the bands that played there had to mingle with everyone else - other bands to have played there include Nirvana, Radiohead, Run DMC and Roachford(!!!)) and asked for the 50p. He gave us a quid and told us to tell security we were with him at the end of the gig. The gig was great (the support band were OK but they had this one killer tune (which we now know to be "Caught By The Fuzz") which we loved) and at the end of the gig we told security we were with Rick (and so were the two girls we were trying to pull). Astonishingly they said he'd mentioned it and we didn't have to go yet. We then spent a couple of hours getting rat-arsed with both bands while the two drummers played David Essex records from the DJ booth. By about 2am I was lying down in the road outside with Rick, playing chicken with taxis. I was 15.

Was it the best sounding gig ever? I'm sure it wasn't. Was it one of the best gigs I've ever been to? Yes, for all of the reasons outlined above.

A friend of mine went to the JAMC gig you've mentioned - surely the best line up for a gig (as opposed to festival) ever. Wish I'd been there.

Rollercoaster tour, yeah, saw it at Brixton academy. at the time, none of them were particularly big names, JAMC were fading from the public eye, blur had yet to make it big big, MBV weren't enjoying the renaissance they got a few years ago, hadn't become 'legends'.

It was a great evening, definitely, but I remember anticipation for it not being that big, and it was easy enough to get tickets. Wasn't seen as an amazing lineup at the time.

Like when you look back at old festivals and the lineups seem incredible cos you notice who went on to make it big later, knowwhatImean?

Cracking story. I live a few minutes from the After Dark. When I was a bit younger (and, strangely, lived a little further away) I used to go there most weeks.

It's a while since I've been now, but I'm sure it's still the same as ever...

1) The cribs (tie between Leeds Brudenell (cribsmas night 1 and 2) / London Water Rats, think it was 08 / london garage 2010 first and 2nd albums in full. and countless others)

2) Bands that were far too big to play york fibbers (Maximo park, franz ferdinand, arctic monkeys - all amazing nights)

3) Dj Set - Erol alkan glasto 2008, played some daft tiny tent and was phenomenal, followed him closely ever since. got down with a mystery jet and a chemical brother!

4) Black Wire Leeds faversham NYE 2005 - i met my girlfriend.... plus they were a wonderful ramshackle band that made everyone dance and go mental.

5) underworld - bestival 2008. my first bestival, and probably the best festival headline set i've seen! didnt know that many songs but it was intense, absorbing and euphoric. perfect.

U2 Zoo TV tour - Roundhay Pk, Leeds 1993, never have I ever seen a show like this one, way better than the 360 and POP'Mart shows, so looking forward to their slot on Friday at Glasto.

Blur - Hyde Pk 2009, Missed Glasto this year so was made up to see them especially after watching their Pyramid show on TV.

The Prodigy - MK Bowl 2010, Just mental !

Pulp - Heineken Fest Leeds 1995(ish) very fuzzy memory as had one to many Mad Dog 2020's that day but sounded fantastic was around the time Common People was getting played just before Different Class.

The Verve - V Fest 2008 Chelmsford, great show in the pouring rain, without doubt 'Love is Noise' and 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' were amazing highlights and Ashcroft is an awesome front man !

Stone Roses spike island and Glasgow green same year 1990. Glasgow green was in a big top for about 6k people with Paul okenfold playing records for support. Wooden floating floor inside it and the place bouncing.

Bowie on the pyramid 2000. Say no more really.

Ian Brown at T in the park 2008 I think. King Tuts tent. Absolutely mental. Brown on top form.

Sex Pistols IOW 2008 I think.

Verve at Haig hall. As the previous poster has said. Very emotional show. Amazing gig.

This is very tough though. Off thee top of my head these were and really can't remember most of the bands I've seen and randomly remember them in bed or when day dreaming in work!
