Released two solid albums. A fantastic live act. If you drop the pretense for a second and actually admit they are perfectly fine. They are a band who were incredibly popular, sold out arenas, and released a modern classic album. I realise it's uncool to like them now but f**k it.... They were/are an entertaining act who released some belting tunes.

Ah why not. I'd be happy to see them there, as has been said don't take themselves too seriously and put on a good show, hell yeah, lets have it... Just dusted off "Permission to Land" for a little bit of reminiscing... Don't think I'd get in my spandex to see them any more though, I'll leave that to the band

I liked them. Had some fun catchy tunes, never took them seriously. In terms of actual musicianship and instrumentation I thought they were quite talented. Admittedly Justin Hawkins is a bit of a cock but most frontmen are...

Obviously there's no way they'd headline now, but 2nd or 3rd on the bill would be spot on.

"Motherfuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-CKAH!"

You obviously didnt see them when they headlinerd leeds then. I and everybody else there really thought "right the jokes gone too far, please leave the stage"

Infact I left half hour before the end so I could get a good spot for dirty sanchez. They was THAT bad

2 points to be made here.....

1) I have in no way defended R/L choice to have them as headliners so early on.

2) Who's the bigger idiot. The band being paid millions to play a gig? Or the guy who sat a stage to watch a band who he doesn't like, was bored of, and had plenty of alternatives to?

    • Hasn't Farage been fighting for 30 years for Britain to leave the world?
    • Lower league football has this more regularly, no? Quite often I'll see League 1/2 sides have signed a whole new 11 every summer.    Admittedly, changing the entire squad is different.
    • Oh yeah I'd forgotten about their mad scramble to get back from LA to Glastonbury. Though at least there you can blame multiple flight cancellations. I do agree though that it's fair to ask why you'd risk a similar sh*t show.
    • So who's got a good rain dance in the locker, then? Now we're in August the weather watchers can come out of hiding.    Already having flashbacks to last year (the dust cloud of doom at the crossroads by the Courtyard entrance).   Also got to be looking sketchy for the fire/fireworks on the Sunday. Might be a controversial opinion but wouldn't mind it - the fencing annoyance isn't worth the 10 mins of 'oooohhh, aaahhhh', plus the raining of hot embers last year!
