If Glastonbury was a microcosm of society where the general population made up their own rules, laws and punishments to live by thieves would have a pretty hard time. And if these are the punishments for attacks on property what punishments will people be proposing for attacks on people?

I still believe in Peace and Love and I agree that some of the things written seem horrible but I think they need to be taken with a pinch of salt. I have been burgled twice and its not a nice feeling coming home and seeing your place trashed. I think that doing a clean up at the end of the festival is a good idea. I think last year the Police were monitoring traffic and pulled over know offenders as I remember hearing that they stopped an organised gang getting to GF.

Do you really think anybody is going to do any of the things they've mentioned on this thread? Personally I don't think so. I think it's more of a wistful venting, an outpouring of the anger and frustration felt about those who would bring misery to this music festival about peace and love who we feel so powerless to do anything about.

If it is just venting, then people aren't showing much imagination.

I'd be all for collecting as many thieves as possible, taking over the medical tent and making a load of human centipedes, which will be fed only on cow pats. They can all live on the farm and Michael can rent them out to neighbouring arable farms for use as environmentally friendly dung-spreaders.

probably people are saying most of this tongue in cheek. But I must admit I too was horrified by the seeming venom behind it. Personal injury and possible permanent physical and psychological damage as retribution for transgressions against property?

After many years of Glastonbury, last year was the first that I'd had anything stolen. Regrettably, this can only be described as my own fault. I left my tent 4o/c ish on Monday (post-festival) afternoon, on Kidney Mead, to walk someone up to Tom's Field. Daft thing to do, of course; the tatters are out and technically, it is recyling at this point, I suppose.

My old-school rubbish Nokia was stolen (empty of charge)and my lovely shawl-like scarf. In fact, the phone wasn't half as rubbish as the cheap Nokia that replaced it.

However, the thieves left behind: Perfumes (fancy), a gillet (fashionable) a poured glass and half a box of red wine (surely covetable) and an unopened packet of cigarettes (bloody hippy thieves).

I did ring the phone. Some youngsters apparently, clearly the morning after a heavy night and thief's mate answered: "What Pete? He wouldn't do anything like that! Oi Pete: where ja get this phone?' 'Glastonbury' drawled Pete. I asked if they could send the scarf on; haven't heard anything yet..

I was chatting to a girl this year at The Park on the Thursday and she said the night before she was woken by the sound of her tent zip being unzipped. She looked up and a guy was coming into her tent so she sat up and booted him square in the face and bust his nose, she said he ran off screaming, serves the f**ker right

i can remember when some girls that were camped by us left a wallet outside whilst they went to the loo anyone could have picked it up but one of our lot picked it up and waited for them to get back .they didnt even know that they had left it

we go up in quite a big group anyway but still camp in the same place every year and have made good friends with others that do the same so have lots of people looking after each other .

still the first thing i try to do is make friends with anyone around our tents and do the old you look after mine and ill look after yours thing .

touch wood ive not been robbed but i know people that have only tents away . i have had last year and a few years ago some random asleep in my tent off there heads but they didnt mean any harm just lost mad init
