Jessie J

2003 era Sugababes were one of the best pop acts this country's ever seen, and I'm not even taking the piss.

Good god they were awful though, same with Macy Gray who was on either before or after. I still hate my wife for wasting those 2 hours of my life, I really wish I done something (anything else). Even a few lengths of the long drops would have been preferable.

She seems to be down with the kids so would be a good booking for that reason.

oh, the mums and teenage girls love her. But they loved Westlife too, and they've yet to appear on a festival stage. But Jessie has. Fuck knows why.

Come the revolution Jessie J should be first against the wall. I'll be happy to pull the trigger myself. :P

That is harsh talk brother, even in jest She is what she is.

You want to shoot a young lady who wrote something as pure, simple and sweet as this?

If you surround yourself with negative people You'll never feel settled in or become an equal, no They'll suppress you of your spirit and rinse you dry of smiles So reach deep and release your inner child

Regarding the is she isn't she credible argument I really don't think she is and it all comes down to how she's marketed. Her music and her brand are aimed at kids and we all know kids have terrible taste in music (I include myself in this, the first single I bought was Steam by East 17). Therefore music aimed at kids is invariably shite. Whether someone rights their own songs or not is essentially irrelevant. It's all down to who it's aimed at. If its for kids it's rubbish. Katherine Jenkins doesn't right her own songs but she's seen as a credible artist. She's also much more do able than Jessie J. Jessie J just looks like you'll be straight down the doctors for some cream after you've had a go on her.

Erm, she's really not. If opera's your thing (I like it a bit but one of my best mates is a professional singer and my Dad loves it) then she is absolutley seen as the Jessie J of the genre. She's all about marketing and celebrity not quality of performance and interesting repertoire.

The credible / not credible argument is really simple.

1) Were you famous before you had actually done anything? If so you're not credible.

2) Have you ever had a significant part to play in a reality TV show? If so, you're not even a credible human being, let alone musician, singer or performer.

If, like Jessie, you can answer yes to both of those questions then I'm prepared to hold you against the wall while Neil takes aim!

There are a whole boat load of non credible artists who can answer no to both of your points so that makes no sense.

Regarding Katherine Jenkins I honestly have no idea how she's seen in opera circles, I was just trying to make a point, I could have said Pavarotti but he wasn't as fit as my Kath so I used her instead.

Anyway I think we're both essentially making the same arguments so I'm going to stop here and go back to thinking about pantomime horses

Totally agree (proper Opera snobs get a bit sniffy about Pav too - in the way that indie types can end up turning their noses up at Oasis because they've sold a few records) but nevertheless, my criteria provides a starting point for weeding out the rubbish!

Hannah Vasanth and Jessie J, they make music together, I am not deranged. They makes me smile, that is all.

One mans smile is another mans grimace of sheer revulsion.

For the crimes you are committing against your ears when you put on your headphones and play this noise you should be tried in The Hague, sentenced, and then hung by the neck until dead.

Jessie J live in Jakarta March 2012. In the world's most populous Islamic nation, she is not wearing much, but having spent quite a bit of time there, I can vouch for the fact that the weather is very hot, and the sensible way to go is swimwear.

The sound in this one keeps limiting out when the bass kicks in which is a shame, however it is still well worth a watch. This is the tour last night in Singapore and Jessie's confidence and personality shine brightly throughout.
