What to do in 2012?

Should i try V in 2012 its a place i have always assumed is for the younger generation? I do only live 15 mins from the Chelmsford site but Glastonbury has been my only festival (3 years running now)

Reading festival probably. I'll need one for the start of summer too though. Then maybe another in July . Personally I wouldn't go to V, just cos I really don't like the music there. Go if it's your taste, would be good for you seeing as you're 15 mins away.

Definately another euro festival for me, only been to Lowlands in 2008 so perhaps try Exit

I might give Bestival a try as I've heard nothing but amazing things, but Green Man also appeals majorly.

Saying that I'll probably just end up at Leeds, urgh...

Roskilde for me. Never liked the idea of 2 festivals in 2 weeks so it was always going to be either Glastonbury or Roskilde. Last time I planned to go to Roskilde I ended up going to Rock Werchter instead (same weekend), so want to commit myself without backing out this time

I think I am going head back to TiTP and maybe try reading, and something smaller as hopefully it be my first festie season with a full time job so can afford more than one. Maybe hop farm as well as its not to far and great atmosphere!

I agree with that. I lived 45mins from Chelmsford so the times I went (03 for both days, 04 and 06 for 1 day) I just got the non-camping tickets. Cheaper and at V there's not much missed by not camping. It was fun to go to the festival and come back and watch the highlights with my friends too. V's one of those festivals which I wouldn't go out of my way to go to, but if you live nearby and it's a good lineup then why not?

As I live near Chagford in Devon I might try Chagstock which is a small local festival. I do not think they have ant big names but I have heard its a good atmosphere. Anybody been?

I'm thinking Hard Rock, Blissfields, Rame Head Maker, Maverick, 3 Wishes Faerie Fest, or Hop Farm (or Chagstock - see below)
