Had to return my ticket last year, due to holiday and her indoors who won't do any festivals at all throwing a strop...did'nt mind so much as i was not to keen on the line up anyway, and i did enjoy the holiday. So i deceided to make 2011 my final Glastonury, and was more than pleased to get my ticket, with her approval...BLOODY HELL i have just been informed her sodding sister in Australia is getting married the week before Glastonbury and yes you guessed right we will be going...So some lucky person will be getting my ticket......

Go to the wedding, enjoy it, and convince your wife it's important to leave Australia immediately after the wedding as you don't want to impinge on the honeymoon. You'll be home in time for the gates opening.

When my daughter announced she was getting married I warned her not to pick Glasto week if she wanted to see me there. Unfortunately she chose the weekend of another festival where I was working so I did the fest Wednesday-Friday night, drove home, scrubbed up and did the wedding on the Saturday and was back at the festival on Sunday morning.

Admittedly it was only 50 miles away and not the other side of the world. I hope your sister will appreciate your sacrifice.

f**k that shit. Weddings are w*nk. Long haul flights are w*nk. Jet lag is, you guessed it - w*nk.

Put it this way. What came first, you booking the ticket or your soon-to-be-outlaws setting a date? You have a prior engagement and your missus wasn't going with you anyway. Easy peasy lemon wotsit, missus in Oz, you at Glasto, all punters happy. Voila.

My invoice for problem solving is in the mail.

Went to Australia a couple of years ago. Like you, a three week visit, starting with a wedding. It was amazing. Did the east coast from Melbourne, via Sydney and up to Cairns and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef. But ask me now what would I prefer - a week at Glasto or three weeks in Oz and Glasto wins hands down.

Resigned to not going now, also thinking of maybe tagging a extra week on in New Zealand. This was to be my last Glastonbury, nothing will change that, have had some good times there, but i think its far to big these days.and had already made up my mind to do a few smaller fests next year, could be i might even persuade her indoors to try one of them, have to be a motorhome job though, and even then i doubt she would agree.
