Please explain your answer for the above question:

I just believe touts are unfair and unwanted, whilst I understand people may just trying to help.. I believe the Photo Registration at Glastonbury eliminates nearly all aspects of Black Market selling.

Whilst it's obviously more hassle, for 'bigger' bands such as Kasabian for example, where their shows are likely to sell out, I.D should be placed to increase chances of getting tickets for real fans and not fans trying to make a quick buck.

Please explain your answer for the above question:

Personally and in an ideal world there would be a universally implemented structure for tickets and ID cards. Not in some big brother way but just for events - like a cashcard. Or something like that - not given a lot of thought. It would solve a lot of issues. Would also force companies to develop a better and fairer returns and resale policy. Not applicable to all things though just high demand events.

I come across there like a person i am not. But hey, what's one to do - I can't explain too well :)

Thankyou for those who are filling it out :).

I'd appreciate it, if you could refrain from posting a comment if you aren't willing to help me.

It's just a 2 minute questionnaire which is a minute part of my overall project. It's a waste of your own time.

Oh and if you want to be clever don't make yourself look silly...there's an over 40 range specified in that question.

Over 40

Yes

Yes

What did you think of the Glastonbury websites registration process?

Effective - But only because we got tickets. Had we not I would have been against it.

Do you think the Photo I.D ticketing system works successfully?

Agree - but still not convinced it's necessary (I appreciate all the touting arguments etc)

If you attended Glastonbury previously, do you feel photo Photo I.D ticketing has made a difference to the levels of secondary ticketing?

Yes

No

Don't know (should be an option). I've never studied the previous level of secondary ticketing.

Do you think the registration process would work at

Music festivals?

Disagree - still think it's unnecessary

Live music day events?

Strongly Disagree - absolutely no need for one day events

One off concerts?

Strongly disagree - as with live music one day events - absolutely no need.

Please explain your answer for the above question:

Glasto is probably unique in the speed with which it sells out. Lots of other events are pleased is they get close to capacity and introducing another barrier to sales is barking mad and unnecessary.

Good luck,

Grumpyhack

N/A

Do you think the registration process would work at

Music festivals?

Agree strongly; Reading/Leeds & V especially since there is a lot of touting.

Live music day events?

Impartial; things like wireless dont seem to sell like others and i'm not sure people would buy tickets (on a whim) if they had to register first

One off concerts?

Agree Strongly; think RATM this year, worked perfectly for that and when tickets sell for Muse & Foo Fighters for large gigs at the rates they do i think this would stop the ridiculous amount of touting.

I do however think, for concerts there should be a returns system since the gigs are often annoucned months, even over a year in advance and anything can come up. Could even work for some tours (ie. Muse's arena tour, Roger Waters arena tour) basically any very high profile tour depending on the added cost.

What did you think of the Glastonbury websites registration process?

Effective (I'm assuming you mean 'effective' in terms of it's ease of use?, there are issues of 'effectiveness' in terms of deterring touts which is another issue altogether)

Very effective

Was not affected by it

Too Time consuming

Did not like it

If you didn’t like it, Why?

Do you think the Photo I.D ticketing system works successfully?

Agree (again, i know you don't want to make it a really long survey as that would put people off, but you need to clarify the terms of reference you're using for 'successful', i'm assuming you mean the bureucracy of the ticket buying process, but you could also mean touting etc.)

Please explain your answer for the above question:

I haven't experienced the same level of problems getting tickets for other events so I haven't really got much of an opinion.

However - if and artist or event (say a cup final) would like to ensure that tickets go to those who want them rather than to touts to pass on at inflated prices, this is a system which works well.

N/A, although anecdotal evidence appears to indicate that this has reduced.

Do you think the registration process would work at

Music festivals?

Impartial

(It is not needed at the majority of festivals, only the few which are very popular and sell out within a day of tickets going on sale).

Live music day events?

Disagree (I don't see the need for such stringent measures for these events)

One off concerts?

Agree (However this is only for the most popular acts, and can be managed by people being registered with ticketing websites, with deposit and returns policies)

I go to a lot of one-off concerts/tours and it would be very time consuming to fill in the registration/photo forms every time. It should only be used for high profile events such as Glasto etc where demand is so high.

They already do exist, and work, at all of the above. Whether they are desirable is a different question.
