Don't panic - I confidently predict we will have some weather this year.

Off to dubbin my boots but that's no hint as I wear them come rain or shine.

2007 was awful! It was cold, it didn't stop raining for the whole 5 days, it was grey, it was a nghtmare.

This was also pre super duper drainage, there will never be another Glastonbury like that.

This year will be lovely. Fact!

the operational run on the GFS has overdone the wetness - most other runs for the 00z have gone for less rain, the mean for the ensembles pressure wise though is not overly brilliant.

To be honest this pattern has been locked in for 4 weeks now and there is still no relenting of the heights to our north. The jet is progged to stay as it is for the foreseeable meaning the atlantic low conveyor belt is set to continue.

Best I think we can hope for next week is that after the next low goes through Friday which will be a significant amount of rain for some in the south west by the looks of it that we manage to catch a gap between the next low to come across the country which it is progged to sometime next week. Or that it stalls in the atlantic. Either way - wellies will be required next week I reckon :(

Shocking British June weather as is so often the case these days.

I have to say that I am taking no notice of these weather forecasts until Countryfile on Sunday. It seems that every day, every hour the forecasts change. I have now bought clothes for every eventuality, but still holding out hope for good weather.

    • I agree the prices are tough for locals. You can see if Porto timetable is the type that works for you and it's a terrific city. Also cheaper. https://www.primaverasound.com/es/porto/lineup-porto
    • thanks XXialac! i guess for us the most important aspect will be a festival that starts very late in the day, specially in these southern countries were it can be really hot! The combination of visiting a new city, having good lunches and enjoying a festival is a absolute must for us. Also, we like headliners but the undercard is just as important; truly enjoyed Men I trust, NewDad, Big Thief this year so from that angle it is not really a big thing if a festival is somewhat smaller.    Apparently my bad, i had 5 in my system but 0.5 (10%) increase is still huge. I am not sure how teenagers can afford these prices............
    • That second part was how I felt about Rock IM Park this year trying first. I found that when it gets to like the 3rd act on the main stage down, you've gotta make a choice to miss anything leading up might not enjoy and it's sometimes while closer for not a great view as everyone in turn has to make the call too. Being short doesn't help as I'd just be able be further bacm but still see.
    • I wasn’t slagging Scooter off, they are undeniably silly. As I said, they are the definition of a meme booking for Download. People requested them for years because it was silly.
