Weather thread 2011

I guess we'd all like to believe the good forecasts (from whatever source) and rubbish the less good ones. If Metcheck forecasts good weather (and others don't) and Metcheck turn out right, then I won't complain. However, my experience over the last couple of years is that they've been pretty crap any more than a day or so out, and clearly the great majority of forecasts looking just a day or two down the line are going to be quite accurate. As someone who knows virtually nothing about this stuff, I really appreciate people like Devon Hammer who have something approaching knowledge and are willing to share it with us (with provisos).

Good News:

Dry on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Bad News:

Wet this Friday/Saturday and then Monday through to Thursday. On the Wednesday and Thursday I know everyone likes to wander the site, but this cannot be allowed. You must stay in your tent and let the water drain away.

Worse news:

The bad news is confirmed by the ECM forecast.

2008 was fine, quite heavy rain on thurs i think, but the site never got that bad, its when it becomes a real effort to get around it becomes a nightmare, never happened in 2008

Think jackones final prediction for 2008 was a 2 (where 0 was a washout) or something else fairly negative and while it was quite muddy till Friday morning, it turned fine
