Forecast from a couple of days ago, but only accessible today:

*25/06/2011 - 01/07/2011* High pressure should be taking control of the pattern here as an anticyclone settles over the UK and there's the prospect of a spell of pleasant summery weather becoming established. At long last summer looks set to arrive here as high pressure builds quite strongly and drifts slowly across the UK, winds falling light and long sunny spells develop lifting temperatures into the warm to perhaps locally very warm category. Through the middle and latter stages of the forecast period it should remain largely fine and dry with good sunny spells and just some scattered thundery showers across central and southern areas, warm to very warm too. Coasts may be cooler with low cloud and mist with just scattered showers developing later.

Good forecast from The Grauniad here. I'm pretty pessimistic at the moment though, but last year was all over the place at this stage.

Britain's exceptionally dry and hot spring is set to continue well into June, providing little relief for farmers especially in southern England and East Anglia.

Provisional rainfall figures from the Environment Agency for May suggest that while the north and the Midlands have had much-needed showers, East Anglia has only had 20% of average rainfall and central, south-east and south-west England between 41% and 55% of average.

"River flows remain low, except in north England and north Wales. River flows in south-west England, the Midlands, south-east Wales, parts of East Anglia and Kent are particularly low", said the agency in a statement.

"Throughout most of June, rainfall amounts look likely to continue to be below average across the UK, especially in the south, where they will probably stay well below average", said the Met Office.

Hmm so forecasts at the moment are saying it's turning unsettled from next week with low pressure hanging around in the run up to glasto.

I'll take this but I'm pleading for the high pressure we're having at the moment in Somerset to return on 21st June with enough strength to last a week.

Interesting to see what jackone has to say in his next forecast.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
    • Maybe Starmer's legacy will be a war with Russia.
    • How were GnR? Seen some videos and pictures and let's just say, the crowd to the sides at the front and in front of the sound tents were let's just say... Sparse compared to LB.
