There is an element of luck required and a deal of persistance.

I was on at 8.55 and had my tickets by 9.09am and confirmation e mail at 9.17.

Easiest for a while but got friends that took 4 hours and clearly some obviously not at all.

Really? Get a grip. Everyone who wants tickets can't get them it's purely numbers. No site could deal with the demand. What should Eavis appologise for? Putting on the greatest festival in the world? Making people happy? Donating millions to charity?

I really feel sorry for anyone who didn't get a ticket but blaming Michael Eavis is just plain stupid.

ETA. You sound like a right twat, glad you aint going.

I think I read somewhere that there were 135,000 on public sale. ME has apologised for See Tickets letting them down on Twitter and says there are still a few tickets available. Don't give up hope and hold out for the resale. Throwing blame around wont help anybody. Good luck!

because People who had already secured tickets, were getting back on to the site, and buying in bulk for others, I didnt have that opportunity. Thats a sham and is cheating. 4 tickets per person, it was in fact as many as you wanted if you had been able to access it. This should not have been allowed.

I am digusted and very very very angry, Eavis needs to respond to the fraud that has happened this morning.

He did apologize...

"Tickets for Glastonbury 2011 have now sold out. Thanks to everyone who bought one and apologies to those of you who missed out."

Glad the original poster isn't going in all honesty.

Seetickets' biggest day of the year, there's no way if i ran that company i'd buy extra servers etc, just for one day, it makes no sense!

I spent an hour unable to get through to the website -- tried with Chrome Firefox and IE. Each gave different error messages, but the meaning was the same; we cannot get through to seetickets.com

Eventually I did get through.

If the capacity of the servers was increased then the tickets would have sold out faster.

It's got nothing to do with M.E.

M.E. has worked for years to get this festival into the position it is now and to the reputation it has of being the very best festival, and in fact the only true festival.

Ticketing was obviously contracted to seetickets, and if you're having a go at anybody, it should be them, for not having the neccessary resources to fulfill what they where contracted to do, not M.E or any of the Eavis'.

Ok...sorry if my mathS is a bit out here BUT...this is Glastonbury Festival, there are something like 180,000 tickets. 4 hours is pretty good going. I thought it would be 2 hours in the end!

Dont take That concerts sell out quicker than this and the numbers for those tours are even higher? 5 nights in stadiums that hold 40,000+ per evening?

Peter Kay's Tour that isnt a Tour? Wasnt that something like an hour and in total well over 200,000 tix gone?

The G Fest is now ridiculously fashionable and popular and with last year's good weather, highly desirable as an event to attend.

There are tickets, they sell out. Nature of the f**king beast funnily enough! This year there are probably at least 2 if not 3 times as many people trying off the back of a. knowing that Boner and his friends are an almost definite b. the weather was lush c. Its Glasto FFS!

I cant deny I am not pleased that every single one of my chums on Efests all have tickets but thats mainly to do with the fact that there are lots of us all helping each other out, which yes, may be an advantage and I'm very sorry for everyone who has not been successful but at the end of the day, we all know how much of a military operation this is and after 7 Glastonburies since 04 all being somewhat of a mish to get tickets with (barring 08), you should know what to expect. End of.

It's CERTAINLY NOT Micheal's fault that the See pooters didnt quite handle it but really, tbh, they did...it was just this year...probably/possibly just too many people trying. And actually I do think See did do a reasonable job this year.

Yep, but exactly the same number of people would be disappointed at not having got tickets.

By it taking time, it actually gives a preference to the most persistent, which ain't a bad thing.

Outside of that it was completely random - some got thru and others didn't. Ultimately it makes no difference to the number of disappointed people, who aren't going to be happy because they missed out.

It should be added to that, that unlike Peter Kay and Take That, the registration is another big element and a computer load which makes these tickets a bugger to sell. Considering the Registration is a protection to their customers, I think its ridiculous to say the Festival doesn't care about their customers

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
