Exactly Sara!

I think sometimes people just don't like change. I agree that if it got too competitive with homecoming queens (whatever they are) and king and queen of the prom and stuff it could be a bit much, but it's basically just a posh party.

I actually like the fact the kids get all excited and look forward to it, at least they are enthusiastic and optimistic, and enjoying being silly teenagers! Life will crush them soon enough...

Also without the prom there woud be no 'Carrie' which I think is a good story/film :D

I never went to my prom, I don't think I could've dealt with a night of dressing like a tit and being nice to a group of people I generally despised. We all just went round my mates on prom night and got pissed.

Aye we sneeked a wee carryout in the limo and you got cheap champaigne as well.

I remember talking to a girl who had just been on her prom and didn't drink because she was underage. She went and told the limo driver that people had snuck booze in the limo......

She basically grassed on her pals, in front of her pals, in the limo!

Why the f**k are people in this country having prom nights?

Isn't that exclusively for whiny American teenagers in shit coming-of-age comedies and the c**ts at Eton who find such nonsense to be a "ruddy good larf"?

Reminds me of the American version of Akira "AND THE PROMS TOMORROW!"

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
    • Lifelong Carlisle United supporter here.🤦‍♂️ Good luck for the coming Season and see you in October!
