I was near the front of the crowd for Dizzee. Now his fan base is on the young side, and there were plenty of kids in the crowd. One girl who was all of about 6 or 7 tapped this older lad(about 17) who was on the rail, on the arm. She asked nicely if she could stand in front of him because she couldn't see. He said no.

I thought that was nasty as in no way would his view have been affected. I told him that. He just shrugged and said he had been waiting all day at the rail for Dizzee and weren't shifting.

Anyhow, 5 minutes before Dizzee security walked up to this lad and his mates, moved them to the side and gestured for the younger kids to come forward onto the rail.

The lads looked stupid and shown up and the kids could now watch the show.

Justice had been served and the Glasto spirit lived on.

Fair enough but even as a non-front of crowd person I'd be a bit peeved if I had waited there all day only to be told to move out the way by a 7 year old! Still, Glasto spirit/karma/justice, yes indeed.

On a slightly different subject but almost the same, while I was watching the Pet Shop Boys I couldn't help noticing this slightly short lady (about 5ft so not dwarf by any means) who if somebody taller than her stood in front of her within a range of about 10 metres she'd run up to them and tell them to move over because she couldn't see. I thought this was a bit off so I decided to purposely stand in front of her, and sure enough up she came to tell me to move. I said "No, you move....and by the way have you been asking people to move out of the way all week because if so you must have had a really great time!?". She looked at me rather shocked and as if by magic she moved slightly to the left a few centimetres so to see the stage again!

Agree with all of these, but originally came to this thread because I thought it was about campaigning for the French wonders to play with Daft Punk next year

I am on the short side myself, in fact would love to be able to say im 5 foot but cant I accept that there are taller people in the world and at a concert they will stand in front of me. It is much easier for me to move and find a place i can see from. Over the whole course of Glasto there was only one time that i had to ask somebody to move, they stood directly in front of me. And even then i didnt actually ask them to move, just asked if we could sway places - but she very kindly moved for me and meant i could have a really good view of Stevie. I would never run round getting people to move, thats just daft.

Don;t think its really fair to ask someone to move tbh, what about someone whose 5ft 8 behind someone 6ft, ,where does it end?

Wahhh, this one's riled me!

When we were watching the football on the Wednesday we were stood up about halfway between the front fence and the second set of speaker towers. Two of my mates had been sat down as they could see quite clearly until a group of guys came and stood directly in front of them which was fine, and they stood up like everyone else.

Now, after they stood up a woman came over from about 10 metres away and told them they'd just become the two most hated people at glastonbury (which i thought was pretty damn rude) and she told them that they'd blocked the view of all those SAT DOWN BEHIND. I mean, come on! If you're sat down with your children then how do you expect to see?

I was shocked and told her that we couldn't see either unless we stood at which she called us selfish. So I responded by telling her that if she wanted some action she better be prepared to tell the few thousand in front of us that they too were selfish.
