The one bright light was the difference Carroll made when he came on - a good player brings out the best in the average. But the reverse side of that was all of the long balls, not pretty at all.

Calling Poulsen and Joe Cole average is being pretty kind...

Poulson wasn't on the field for my comment aqbout average players.

But yeah - it's a huge over-statement for Cole. He's shit. WTF has happened to him? He's no good to have in front of Johnson either, as he leaves him too exposed when under attack, and gives him no support if he tries to get forwards.

I wasn't much impressed with Speering either when he was playing on the right before Paulson went off. Out of his depth is about how it was. He was better taking over from Poulson; he was better than Poulson.

And it's no f**king good for Lucas to win the ball to only give away again - just about every time.

Meireles had a shocker too.

At least Kenny said it how it was afterwards - there was no pretending.

Suarez would have made a huge difference last night

He did, but he hasn't been playing really for them. And wont be either. They'll be signing someone else when Xavi packs it in I reckon. Hes a breaker upper and utility for them when needed, not a Barca player in the true sense. He'll end up at Inter.

The game is at OT, and Utd's form at OT is excellent, so form says Arsenal are likely to lose - and so no doubt there'll be a realistic view of that likelihood, and it shouldn't dent Arsenal's confidence too much it that happens.

While they'd be out of the running for yet another trophy if they did lose, I don't think it says much for what will happen in the Prem.

I'm a little pissed off that I won't get to see much (if any) of the game, as I'll be driving back from seeing the 'shots extend their unbeaten run at Cheltenham.

Suarez would have made a huge difference last night but the slightly over-complicated UEFA cup tie rule means he can't but Torres can... Bit like that bizarre number rule that made Carroll wear 29. I'm not using that as an excuse I'm only messing of course but these minor little niggles highlights how shit those ruling the game are. The game needs change at the top, Platini and Blatter are going to ruin this game if they are given any more chance.

He is cup-tied because although he only played in the CL, Ajax are now in the Europa.

If Ajax had stayed in the CL we'd be fine. That's why despite Torres playing for us in Europe he can still play for Chelsea.

Over complicated in my opinion.

Either have:

a) Can only play for one team in Europe in a season

Only play for one team in a each competition per season

c) Don't have it.

Simples.
