Newcastle have cancelled a press conference intended to announce the signing of Stephen Ireland on loan, and sky keep going on about a expected new development with Andy Carroll. Could just be that the Ireland deal is off, but I'm starting to think Carroll might actually be leaving

The pic is genuine, unlike 90% of whats been reported (most of which Ive posted!). But it is transfer deadline day so everything comes with a Gazza size portion of salt.

But hes defo on the way down to London. You cant see from that pic but he has drinks and crisps and stuff on the passenger seat for the trip and had ""The Bridge" inputted into his satnav.

Edit: He actually is, via helicopter. Due in Chelski in the next 30 mins.

Some journo has just twittered that he's still in Liverpool, and not looking like going anywhere just yet.

And I reckon that's right, else there'd probably be stories of L'pool having accepted a bid from Chelsea also appearing. He's not likely to go south until a bid has been accepted.

there's rumours that L'pool have upped the bid to £35M.

If they're paying that much for Carroll, they should be getting £60M+ for Torres.

Who needs Andy Carroll?

** 14.07pm Dulwich Hamlets striker Paul McCallum is West Ham’s first signing this afternoon, for a nominal fee. More news later on other targets. The Hammers fought off strong competition for his signature with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manhcester United all having made enquiries to the South London club.

If the Carroll deal goes through, Newcastle will want a replacement.

If you're reading this forum Mr Ashley, may I suggest Carlton Cole is world class and worth at least £20m...

Oh c'mon - we all know that Ashley will spend the huge sum of 3 1/2 pence on new players. He's well known for spunking huge amounts, isn't he? :P

The 7th most expensive player of all time!! Utter utter insanity.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo: Manchester United to Real Madrid – £80m (2009)

2. Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Inter Milan to Barcelona – £60.7m (2009)

3. Kaka: AC Milan to Real Madrid – £56m (2009)

4. Zinedine Zidane: Juventus to Real Madrid – £45.62m (2001)

5. Luis Figo: Barcelona to Real Madrid – £37m (2000)

6. Hernan Crespo: Parma to Lazio – £35.5m (2000)

7. Andy Carroll: Newcastle to Liverpool - 35m (2011)

David Villa cost Barca less money.

Aguero just signed a new contract, sorry 'Arry.

And heres Torres leaving Melwood, in a car that isn't in any way a helicopter.

so where are you getting such "well-sourced" info? :P:lol:

According to The Guardian (here), that pic is "Fernando Torres arrives for training at Liverpool. Photograph: Paul Ellis/AFP/Getty Images" (it doesn't say if it's from today or not, but cos it's getty you can be 100% that it's him 'arriving' and not 'leaving').

It's pretty good that you're able to see those things outside of the picture. Telepathy?:lol:

yep, that seems to be the case.

I wonder who at Anfield is in the driving seat with this, Kenny or Camoli?

I'm hoping that it's Kenny, and that he's seen something in Carroll that the rest of us have missed. Cos if it's Camoli, given his doings at Spurs, there's a very good chance it's pissing money up the wall.

"Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has completed the signing of Andy Reid, but claims the club have not received any new bids for captain Charlie Adam."

(Skysports website).

And there's big money being out on Man Utd signing Adam before the end of the day, apparently. Not too sure if there's any truth to Utd's interest or not tho.

    • You can judge who you want to get a high slot next with the Lolla headliner performances from the weekend. Cause people think Tate Mcrae is the best thing out there for some reason. And some other cool acts, plus you can laugh at how bad the camera work is cause disney is cheap.
    • Fontaines getting the honour of the last ever BBC Maida Vale session going out on 6 Music shortly.   No Glastonbury relevance (for now.. ), just thought I'd mention it for those who are interested 😎
    • Had a wonderful booking in one of our primary woodland venues this weekend. A 30th birthday arranged by a load of musicians and entertainment industry professionals. It was primarily a folk oriented event, however I noticed one young woman who didn’t seem to fit dress and appearance wise. Turned out to be Frenetic, one of the top up and coming UK Jungle and DnB DJ’s.    Anyway Saturday night turned into an EDM session and I got to do a set. Slightly nervous considering who was there, it was great and Frenetic loved my set. She’s closing Data Mine at Shambala this year.
    • they got lucky and the thunderstorms stayed away. It was still wet of course. Some of those boot sucking puddles did emerge from what a couple friends saw who were there.  Post fest aerial also below   and also a sapphic mud wrestling contest?
