i don't see why though. why should his acheivements be looked down upon because he's scoring goals with 'inferior' players around him. neil for example scoffed at jones last season so why would it be any more of an achievement if he was banging them in with torres beside him?

but it isn't saying that is it? hence the handicaps that are in place for the lesser leagues. hence larsson needing to score far more than the players in the top leagues to win it.

Kevin phillips was great at what he did but he is certainly not comparible to the premiership greats like henry, ronaldo, fowler, wright etc

What a crock of shit.

You are top four obsessed. They all play for the top four elite.

and those clubs are the "top four elite" because of what?:lol:

As ever, you display a wealth of in-depth knowledge.

Oh, so Shearer isn't a premiership great then?

He single handedly won a small club the premiership title

As ever, you display a wealth of in-depth knowledge.

You're spouting blatently obvious and illogical garbage.

self-criticism is a good thing. :)

Why are people bothering to attempt to analyse in depth the merits or not of Ngog and Bent?

Anyone who claims Ngog is a better player than Bent is an imbecile.

Shearer, Le Tissier, Di Canio etc never played for a big club - means they weren't good enough for a top four club right?

Or alternatively they were all courted for top four clubs and told them to go forth and multiply...?

Oh, so Shearer isn't a premiership great then?

He single handedly won a small club the premiership title and scored hundreds of goals for a club who regularly finished mid-table. How is this any different to Bent keeping Sunderland up last season and Phillips keeping Sunderland in 7th for two consecutive seasons as the league's top scorer?

And what about Le Tissier? Was he just 'decent' because he was at Southampton?

You're spouting blatently obvious and illogical garbage. Anyone can discern for themselves that Shearer was a great, Le Tissier was class and that Phillips deserves high praise indeed.

Ah but that wasn't the argument. The argument was that players hadn't played for top 4 clubs weren't quality and this was backed by the fact that big clubs weren't interested in them. But it doesn't add up as there can be more than one reason for a player not playing for a top four club.

I'll be told next Trevor Brooking wasn't quality. After all never even finished a season in the top four, and indeed spent some of his career in a lower division.

It's poppycock - there are no hard and fast rules and each player should be judged on their merits - not on criteria invented by morons in an attempt to substantiate their bollocks and inknowledgeable point of view...

Anyway, the fact remains Bent is a far better player than Ngog ;)

    • Used had one of the biggest crowds in the Wave last year. Not really my thing but enjoyed it and the crowd were bang up for it. Might be too much of a step up on the Main though.
    • Thing is it depends on what the issues are - building a bigger stage would likely bring the Pyramid up to the relatively standard 20x20 space for "on stage" production which does make it easier for touring setups. But if for example she wants big / complex extensions going out in the field (such as she had in Rio) that would remain just as awkward to achieve without massively disrupting the rest of the day or potentially even weekend.
    • A month or so before any ballot a group of up to six is registered and a lead booker named.  That gives see tickets time to check if any individual’s registration, post code  and details appears more than once on different groups and removed then on ticket allocation day tickets the groups are just randomly balloted.  It’s felt like a ballot in the last few years, just sitting staring at the dreaded two lines, glancing nervously at the clock as time passes. Maybe the f5 refresh gave you the sense that you were actually doing something 😊
    • or can we just have Metallica back please 😄
    • Feel Stevie Wonder should be in the conversation as a random Michael Eavis headliner ala Neil Young last year.... If we did get a M.E pick for one of the headliner slots, who else would be in the mix do we think? Cher? Rolling Stones? Nicks/Fleetwood?
