I agree that drogba is a true big game player. However I have always found rooney a bit hit and miss againt the top premiership sides. I can remember him doing pretty well against arsenal but cant remember him being effective against the other 2 members of the traditional top 4 liverpool and chelsea. I suspect ralph will have stats to suggest im talking bollocks!

Surely worthy of a mention?

So Fabio - Wrong-Phillips or Jarvis? Do you stand by your policy of picking players who are both playing regular football and on form?

Yeah, goalscoring wise could be much better against Liverpool. Those stats don't always tell impact on a game though, or if heavily involved in a buildup without getting the assist/goal. eg, Rooney played the ball to Giggs to cross to Scholes in the 2-0 in 2006 and the ball out to Fletcher to put the cross in for Parks winning goal last year (the 2-1 at OT)

Tell you what, that Downing's shite isn't he?!

I mean the way he's been sticking quality ball after quality ball in to the box has been f**king terrible.

As I type he's just made Villa's second.

KNOW NOTHING c**tS. :P

I think picking boothroyd is ridiuclous. He isnt exactly a 20 year old up and coiming superstar. So what if he is top scorer in the championship. So were ebanks blake, ellington, king, cureton etc. None who are close to international standard.

i however think picking smalling makes sense. For too long england have persisted with your traditional "english centre back" like terry, carragher and upson. They may be good at tackling and heading but have no skill, no passing ability, no pace and generally just send the ball straight back to the opposition. I dont know much about smalling but surely he is a better option than a brute like shawcross.

    • made a last minute decision to go to Belladrum festival. Β  it was absolutely wonderful. Β  never been before, to be honest I think I was expecting a stage in a field and a burger van, but its nothing at all like that. Β  the site is beautiful, its small enough to get around, but big enough that there are things to discover round each corner, there are a good number of small stages tucked away. Β  you could quite easily convince yourself you were in Glastonbury in places. Β  I may have only been one time, but already learned a valuable lesson - the site itself may be Glastonbury like, but the "general camping" campsite is very much Reading like! as the morning mist rises... its a view like the Do Lung Bridge scene in Apocalypse Now... Β  so if you are not 15 years old, go to family or quiet camping which is fantastic. Β  its a real family friendly festival to - loads of families and kids of all ages running round and stuff for them to do. Β  I would 100% recommend it, and I really can't see any reason why I wont be going back next year! Β  πŸ™‚Β
