Liverpool only have themselves to blame that the squad players aret good enough. They have got rid of warnock, riise, hyppia, crouch and bellamy and replaced them with worse players. When you look at man u, chelsea and arsenal I think they rarely make mistakes when letting players go.

i just think you need to look at what o'neil did with villa. they were potential relegation fodder when he took over. and look what he achieved. he's certainly a good manager for getting the best out of players.

Agree the potential is there but as always the media are going a bit ott. I heard someone on the radio say he is an imroved version of paul scholes. In my opinion scholes is the best english midfielder since gazza. I think people need to wait untill he is conssitently a major player in the big premiership/latter stage champions league matches before making comments like that. Plus piling the pressure on him cant help.

And spurs have quite a few £10M+ players sat on their bench at most games, and not because there's freebies playing instead. Liverpool has sub £5M's on their bench.

Rafa - 248 million spent, 104 million net spend, average spend per season of 17 million. Dear oh dear.

Damn, can't find it again now, but just found a blog from March 2009 which explains in detail his transfer dealings, and the way it detailed them showed the losses were mainly on players he inherited.

(I'm not trying to stick up for him btw - but it put a new angle on my thinking of him, which was similar to yours before I read that).

Certainly for the last half of this decade.

It ain't gonna stop either, at least, not till 'Arry's bankrupted them as he has every other club he's managed.

I'd thought the trend would only go back about 5 years - was rather shocked to see it go across the whole decade.

Nearly backed that Tislaam but ended up going with the winner Sweet Gale.

Had two other winners in the 7.20 (Tenessee) and the 7.50 (Josr's Magic).

Ended up walking out the course with just over £50 profit.

Aquilani is probably the reason RB is no longer manager of the Reds. It was the straw that broke the camels back.

No they have not. They have in the last two windows but spent a fortune in the three before that.

It's all relative.

For example, Spurs have been hugely outspending Liverpool, for over a decade. So they're a far better target for ridicule.

I watched him play for Juve last night, only his 2nd game. They lost 3-1 to Palermo at home. He was shite. I was also "challenged" for saying he was shite, not worth 20 mill anyway, before LFC signed him if you remember, saying he didnt get his game for Roma, which he didnt. And hes not playing at Juve either, he was a sub.
