Have spurs moved bale back to left back? Seems a mistake seeing as he was so good on the wing at the end of last and beginnng of this season.

they move him backwards and forwards (and were all thru last season), depending which other players are on the pitch.

I'd guess he might be playing more as a back at the moment tho, cos most of the Spurs defenders are currently crocked.

Ekotto didn't even make the squad so I assume he is on the injury list along with all the centre halves they have out. That was why bale played left back.

if Ekotto is fit, Bale usually plays on the left of midfield. On Saturday, Modric was the one asked to play there - though of course he often popped up in the centre. Probably because Huddlestone and Jenas (unsurprisingly) were so poor.

When you consider Lennon was up against Gabbidon, he was strangely quiet too.

Yep, but it's also been a fairly regular thing for Ekotto to not be playing (either from the start or taken off during the game), with Bale at left back and Modric in front of him - it's not purely an injuries thing, it's one of the formations 'Arry likes to use.

Last season I would have agreed with you (but then last season old saggy chops was actively trying to sell Bale).

However, this season, it's not true. Of Bale's 9 appearances this season, 8 have been playing in front of Ekotto.

Not trying to argue with you, but surely some of those 8 have included instances where Ekotto has gone off and Bale has dropped back?

(I've not actually seen much footie this season yet - festies and kids have got in the way).
