Very pleased with our performance yesterday. Yes it was only Blackpool, and once they went down to 10 men it was effectively over as a contest, but we played well. Considering we've still got Fabregas and Van Persie to come back, it's a very positive start.

Just a quick note on MOTD last night. I know Alan Hansen has had a big grudge against Arsenal ever since we pipped Liverpool to the league title in 89, but just how bitter were his comments on Walcott last night? Theo's had to take a lot of well deserved criticism over the last few years but his performance yesterday merited only praise. There were a few mistakes, but that's the case with any player. To focus only on his misplaced passes was pathetic. Especially as he missed out the brilliant ball he played to pick out Arshavin. When even Lineker is forced in to defending an Arsenal player, you know something is wrong.

Considering that Peter Walton denied Fulham what looked a clear penalty from not so far away, to give a decision like that for deliberate handball against Duff is f**king rediculous.

Almost as bad as Chris Foy at Stoke yesterday.

Agreed he was a bit ott but think a bit of perspective is needed. He played great against a championship standard team. Since nobody disputes that walcott is over championship quality it is nothing to get too excited about. The funny thing about walcott is how the media have overeacted about him. He scored a hat trick against croatia and he is world class, he puts in some medicore perfomrances and he is useless. The truth as in most cases lies somewhere in the middle. Lets see if he can put that perfomrance in against a decent side, time will tell.

Very pleased with the Fulham game yesterday and like Hughes style thus far, very similiar to Woy in neat passing football but he's happy to throw a few more players forward when attacking. Never seen Etuhu in for a shot before but he was always going forward yesterday, against Man U no less. Gutted we didn't get that penalty but a draw was probably a fair result, just hope we can finally sort our away form out.

Going to Blackpool for their first home game of the season next, I fancy our chances but you just can't be sure with Fulham on the road.

City showed utter dominance over Liverpool tonight too, Liverpool simply arn't top 4 anymore and to be honest I think City are ahead of Man U now in terms of quality - reckon they'll pip them to second under Chelsea.

The top of the table is looking rather familiar this morning.

After last night's weak Liverpool performance I can't see them making a strong challenge for the top four.

They've little in reserve to make things any better, and while it's obvious they desperately need a left back (which they'll hopefully get before the window shuts) it won't tighten things up very much.

And god knows what Woy was doing leaving Ngog on the field and taking off Torres. While Torres was far from sharp he was at least in the game, which was more than Ngog managed.

Same should be said of Bolton - yet they couldn't muster even a third of that on a Saturday.

We do have a history of rolling over against 'smaller' opposition in the cup competions. Though these results usually occur away from home - Wrexham being the exception that proves the rule.

I am unsure of what strength team Grant is going to be putting out. However, with our defence I can see Oxford scoring at least once. I just hope we score more than they do!
