What would be the point taking it down now. All it shows is the england players didnt do too well, which everyone already knew! I think it was unwise to be involved in it in the first place but the damage is done now. To be honest I think gerrard should be pretty happy to be ranked in the top 70!

And throw in Arsenals Captain Fantastic in the mix also - he seemed to think it was hilarious. Whats with these Spaniards? Worst winners ever?

Joe Cole has just signed a four year deal with Liverpool. Great buy.

anyone know of any good bars in leeds where i could watch the celtic qualifier next week (know it's scottish based, but correct thread for info)

just worried that it'll clash with the liverpool game and pubs will just be showing that.

I do love the Mail. When Wenger was asked what he thought about the new rules on squads he said that ‘I’m not too much for rules. What is important is quality,’ ‘The Premier League is the most watched league in the world and you only get that if you focus on quality.’

This has of course been turned into an anti-foreigner rant in the hate-mail.

The comments on the article are as always the real treat, my favourite being

With their selfish antics Wenger and his foreign ilk have definitely contributed to the deterioration of the England team. It was bad enough years ago when Scots, Irish and Welsh flooded English sides but this new generation of foreigners are much worse. For me, the new rules don't go far enough. I'd like to see 6 English players on the pitch at all times and a ban on any foreigner who does not come from the EEC.

I would add reina and mascherano to your list. Also possibly agger, skrtel, kuyt and beneyoun. Cole has done no more than them in the last couple of years. As I have said previously he could have been a great player but never reached his potential. When was the last season he had when he had any real type of influence?

There aren't many great pubs in Leeds to watch football in, but if you have to, go for The Packhorse hidden away near Topman on one of the main shopping streets, The Dry Dock near Leeds Met (although the managers a Liverpool fan and it's a Scream bar, despite it being entertaining to drink inside a ship) or the Elbow Room.

If you get really stuck, there's a Sports Bar near the town hall.

In all fairness you can have sex with 15 year olds in France, they just been arrested as prostitutes have to be 18.

What I found weird (Ribery breaking his religous convictions aside)is all these footballers (she did Govu & Ben Arfa too after turning 18 though) are paying for sex when you are that famous why do you need to pay for it, or maybe I'm just stingy or perhaps they were doing a bit of roasting as a form of team bonding?

Joe Cole is making me laugh. Yes you've got to suck up a bit to you new fans but honestly...

"I could have stayed at Chelsea because the fans loved me and I won things, but I wanted to challenge myself and when I knew Liverpool were interested it was a no-brainer because they are the biggest club in the country":lol:

Will those "special european nights" be quite the same for the Europa league?

Also sad to see that Eduardo has left us. He never really recovered from his injury - a real shame as he was looking like he could be quite some player. Here's hoping he can rediscover his confidence and form at a new club.

    • Took my now 12 year old to old Trafford couple of years ago, for his 1st game. He fell asleep during the game, no replies needed. 😃   He is also a Wolves fan, my parenting skills are as good as Onana's goalkeeping skills.
    • A few snaps from Sunday, which was huge fun, plus Happy Mondays, Radio Free Alice, Fratellis and Pale Waves. We didn't stay for The Streets, as after 3-4 songs it felt so downbeat compared to the rest of the day, and i've got another hectic week at work incoming.
    • It was fine, just hectic! The youngsters were mostly very well-behaved. The weather was a real bonus, although surprisingly chilly evenings - I guess it's the altitude - and the area between sound and main stage was a massive dust bowl.
    • Ive always had a lot of time for the mighty Shots, a pal of mine used to commentate on their games for Sussex Counties radio and he'd sneak me into the ground for midweek games, and we'd even nick a tea and a plate of sandwiches. This is back in the George Borg days, so um . . a little while ago now
    • Hmm, weird- Rush are playing the Co-Op live on the 12th and the 14th, and Megadeth are the meat in that sandwich - so they have to roll everything in, roll it out again, only to roll it back in and then out - here's hoping for a prog hokey-cokey with all manner of bizarre time signatures and drum solos!
