Man United fans, we (St Johnstone) are gonna be playing you on 31st July in a testimonial game. Have heard the first team are away in america then so likely to be youngsters etc. Can you maybe hint at some of the players we might see?

Getting pretty ridiculous now! As for the discussion earlier, gotta think no Alonso in that Barca side, so could be space for him. Shift Iniesta to the left, but then dropping Pedro who had a very good season aswell. Equally part will depend on what happens with Ibra/Villa. If Ibra stays, plays and they use same formation then Villa might be used as a bit of a left forward similar to how Spain utilised him at the start. Ibra and Messi as the other forwards, to which Fabregas struggles to get in again as a starter.

Iniesta spent several years in Barca's youth team with Fabregas before the fellow midfielder was lured to England.

And asked at a Nike press conference in Barcelona on Tuesday if Fabregas would be back at the Camp Nou this summer, he replied: "Let's hope so.

"Everybody has come out and spoken of the desire we have for him to be with us next season.

"We would be delighted. Not just because he is a team-mate and a friend, but because it would be great for the club.

"His arrival would give us a huge jump up in quality and he would play his part to help us stay up there competing in the big competitions. We would love him to be here."

"It wasn't anything to do with me - it was the other two who carried out the joke," he said.

"He is my team-mate and my friend and I wish him the best, and if he comes, we will all be delighted."

Im sure those comments will upset a few arsneal fans. However I was thinking today, is there a nicer big name in football than iniesta. He always comes across humble and grateful to be where he is. Also doesnt seem as greedy as many of the big name premeirship players who seem to be desperate to get their hands on every penny they can through photo shoots, book deals, sponsorship etc. You wonder if some if the british players had iniestas attitude that we may have more succesfull international teams.

just had to pop out, and while sat waiting I read an editorial bit in the Daily Mail about Joe Cole and his contract desires.

Apparently, he's turned down an offer of £80k a week from Liverpool, demanding that he's paid the same as Gerrard (£120k a week, apparently).

Supposedly, the best offer he has is from WHU, at nearly £100k a week.

The words that jumped out at me from the article were: "he thinks he's better than he is". So I'm not the only one, and national newspaper's football editors don't think much different.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
    • Lifelong Carlisle United supporter here.🤦‍♂️ Good luck for the coming Season and see you in October!
