"Apologies to those of you coming from far afield, but no other games from the World Cup are due to be shown during the Festival"

ah, shit. f**king bollocks. If you're going to show it, show the whole f**king thing or don't bother at all.

Hmmmm... this doesn't actually tell us anything we didn't know, except I suppose that no othr matches are being shown.

I'm guessing they'll wait and see IF Enlnd get through before coming up with the full plan, which will obviously depend on if we're playing on the Saturday or Sunday and who the opposition is e.g. Germany on th Sunday afternoon would prbably atract more then Ghana on the Sturday evening.

Not much of an update though, is it. They still haven't told us the only thing we didn't know, which is where they'll be showing the second game.

I'm also fairly concerned about the carnage that is going to be everybody trying to pile in before 3pm on the Wednesday, I'd love to know if they are opening up any more routes into the car parks etc. becuase things are going to get pretty ugly if thousands of people are still queueing to get in when the match starts.

I've got The Park as 3/20 favourite, 5/1 bar, nailed on!

I wonder if anyone is running a book?

It's f**kign ridiculously parochial is what it is. About as daft as saying they'll only be English bands on the Pyramid.

Just f**king dopey. The World Cup is a f**king brilliant worldwide thing, it not about England, the WC doesn't end when England get knocked out or aren't playing. Small minded bollocks.

The sport that's been shown before has always been relevant and something people are likely to leave site for. If people start leaving the site then there's licence problems and the only matches this year where that's likely are the england ones. I think the Portugal v Brazil game could be good on the Friday but it's not of relevance to me or over 99% at the festival (relevant only in that people would normally watch it, in a Doctor Who kind of way). The rugby was a smaller game last year but still relevant as it's a one off event that people (quite a small number) would be willing to leave the festival site for.

not parochial, simply not realistic.i'm sure if you are desperate to see a game you'll find somewhere to watch it...i think they simply haven't got the time, space and money to show every single world cup game - therefore, obviously they are going to just show the England games...there's not much point in using a huge space and putting up Paraguay Vs Slovakia on a huge screen so that 4 people can watch it...I'd like my friends pub band to play the Pyramid but no ones going to watch them.. f**king f**king f**king

yeah, but your friends pub band might be able to play one of the many other stages catering to different tastes and less popular entertainment. I agree them being on the Pyramid would be daft, but I was thinking at least there could be an outdoor cinema screen somewhere showing it, or even a smaller tent. If you're showign any of it, why not show all of it.

I'm not saying use a huge space, I'm saying have a small space. Don't see why that can't be done, the same way as I'm not saying put Hobo Jones on the Pyramid but do have them in the Croissant Neuf tent. Have something for everyone. Glasto shouldn't just be a huge popularity contest only having the biggest things.

I'd have been happy with no football, I'd be happy with all the football, but this, Nah, it's horseshit.

In my opinion, the ONLY reason they are showing the knockout game (should we get there) is because the logistics of what might happen if they don't are too frightening to comprehend - a mass exodus of people trying to find somewhere nearby to watch it, locals getting pissed off with excessive traffic etc.

I think if they had their way, they wouldn't show it at all but think they probably should. Not primarily to satisfy the England fans but to appease the locals etc.

Showing the other games really doesn't make sense IMHO - not that I'd complain if they did!!
