Reading would never get someone like Daft Punk as a headliner. Justice to headline NME is entirely possible though.

Muse are going away for a few years now, so they won't be playing Reading 2011.

Looks like Green Day are wrapping up for a while as well.

Linkin Park are dead certs as 2011 headliners, they haven't played Reading in years and they've got a new album coming out soon. Can't see any reason they wouldn't be doing 2011 festivals and they've done both Download and Sonisphere relatively recently, can't see where else they'd want to play.

The Strokes and Foo Fighters look pretty likely as headliners as well.

Think Muse will be nailed on too headline and finish touring "the Resistance" album at Reading and Leeds

The Strokes where amazing at Rockness and could possibly headline next year, really depends on how much money is offered too them. This time next year i'm sure i will STILL be waiting on The Strokes next album

Daft Punk would be an amazing headliner tbh!

Dunno if it'd shift the tickets though so cant imagine it happening :( Maybe in the tent though

I wouldnt be surprised if QOTSA show up again tbh, i beleive theyre going back into the studio, correct me if im wrong?

Foo Fighters should be an obvious choice to headline a UK festival due to having a new album out next year, although that doesn't necessarily mean Reading unfortunately. Soundgarden should be coming round as well. We'll also be living in a state of fear for the next eight months that the MCR rumours of headlining come true.

people's guessing is so bad. you can see from this years line up how well thought and put together it is. there is clear days of heavier rock on the main stage friday and sunday, with heavier bands on the saturday NME. and in contrast, the indie main stage day on saturday and the NME on friday and sunday. this will probably continue as a sort of template for sorting out next year's line up. and bands like the all american rejects, the subways and get cape still making main stage slots? we're gonna be in 2011, not 2007

I think Foo Fighters will make their festie return next year but by headlining Download. They were very accommodating to Dave Grohl & Taylor Hawkins this year + there’s got to be a reason why TCV were given such a high slot, plus they’ve never played Donington.

R&L has moved back to it’s rock/alt roots this year after 09’s blip & with it still selling out I can see 2011 being more of the same. Soundgarden’s a good shout if Soni don’t snag them. I’m thinking – Linkin Park / Green Day / REM.

Friday - foo fighters

Saturday - the strokesthe White Stripes

looks like it would suit this template

possible NME, although too hard to predict

Friday - mgmt

Saturday - my bloody valentine

Sunday - madness/ the specials (any of the original rude boys!)

    • You do get some weird swings here and there, so... Cypress Hill?
    • It was great, but I don't know why they continue to play Wide Lovely Eyes and Rings of Saturn, which are the weakest of the tracks off both PTSA and ST. Well, I do. It's cos they're about Suzie, so he can sing what he wants. They're the low points of the set. The rest is ace.
    • I didn't this time, but I've seen them before and just because you saw both that night doesn’t mean you can compare them. The Stones were great, but.you didn't think so and you went somewhere else looking for a good time and you found it. For whatever reason you didn't like it, but you were an outlier and all the reviews said they were great.
    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, i.e a verbal agreement for 2028, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
