Dizzee Rascal Second Headliner...

Dizzee is huge right now. Hit after hit after hit.

Plus he'll whip the crowd right up before U2 - as anyone who saw him last year will atest. Which is ultimately what the act before the headline is for.

Plus Glastonbury slots are all about prestige - they've always had a history of backing people and saying "Go on, step up and make yourself a household name". Personally I think he'll slay it - just a shame I'll be at Hot Chip

If he gets a band together, it would at least be something different to last years performance and would probably change quite a few peoples opinions of him. I was disappointed at him second headlining, as I was expecting some real treats for the anniversary, especially seeing as though hes third on the bill at Reading and Leeds, but, whatever.

Why not, he's released a few albums and had a few number 1 hits recently. Much more than Coldplay in 2002, Killers and Arctic Monkeys had when they all headlined

I don't much care for Dizzee Rascal.

But having seen Florence and the Machine followed by Dizzee at Pilton Party last year, it was clear that his charisma is going to take him much much further than Flo and the songs of hers that so many seem to rate so highly (I think they're mostly gash myself).

Love him or hate him, I'm more than confident that he'll go down a storm.

I don't really think the order of acts on stages is really meant to represent how "good" or "big" they are (with the exception of the THE headliner, of course). I think what matters is an even distribution of class acts throughout the day. And i think Glasto is doing that really well in 2010. It's looking good to me.

Having said that, if people can rave on about how amazing they think the line-up is, others are entitled to voice their dissatisfaction with the line-up. It's a two-way street. If you've posted a message saying you love the line-up don't complain when people say they don't.

Personally, i'm keeping a level head and saying "yeah, it's looking pretty good...now let's look forward to MAKING it the best time possible with our use of time there....BIATCHES!" Or something like that.

I think it's terrible news. Truly shocking. It's up there with the atrocities in Rwanda, the Beslan school siege, the Vietnam war and Mark McGhee keeping Steve Bull and Robbie Keane on the bench for the FA Cup Semi Final against Arsenal in 1998.

Certainly worthy of yet another thread.

blatantly the latter the most shocking of them all, unless you include bobby robson not bringing on steve bull in the semi final of italia 90

Because to some people only sweaty white men playing the same old shit with guitars are allowed to play high up. Take the Jay Z furore a few years back , despite him being a far more worthy act than the other 2 headliners.

Dizee has had number one singles, a mercury music prize and 4 albums. he is also a fantastic live act. If a rock band had all them things there would be no questions asked even if they were to headline.

Its laughable that people who listen to the same old boring 'rock' bands can be such snobs. Dizee despite his new stuff not being to my taste is more than big enough for that slot and anyone moaning is either ignorant, stupid or both.

I missed him last year, so I'm glad he's on a slot this year when I could possibly catch him.

Glastonbury is all about variety .... He's the top British hip hop artist at the moment ... so he gets a top billing. Seems pretty straight forward to me.

Not sure about the Scissor Sisters though. Their day seems to have come and gone.
