Packing

Anyone started packing already? I'm getting a bit lackadaisical these days and not packing till a couple of weeks before instead of months. Mind you, in previous years I have had to build up my collection of camping gear and now I need to actually buy very little, most of it is in the cupboard waiting for me.

What's your packing list? Are you travelling light or do you need everything including the kitchen sink?

Not quite packing, but I have a small pile forming on my bedroom floor of spare mobile phones, my headtorch, and one of those festival kits you get in millets (gift).

The camping stuff won't take long to sort out, but I do need to buy a rucksack/bag ...

Deffo travelling a lot lighter this year than last. Carted around way too much crap last time and didn't need a good chunk of it.

Do not even get me started on packing!

I've got a list of things to take, a list of things I have, a list of things I need to get and a list of the lists I've just listed. I haven't made my final packing list yet, but I still have things on my "need to get" list :P:P

I will still end up taking everything including the kitchen sink...and probably a spare kitchen sink just incase :P

All my camping stuff is stored in one area in my spare room so quite easy to pack - normally do it about 2 or 3 days beforehand.

My packing list is on a spreadsheet with different tabs for different types of holiday! I then just update it every year. Yes I know it's a bit sad but I'm both forgetful & a v.anxious person (& I love lists!) so it keeps me happy. It's also been distributed round the whole group of people I camp with! :P

I've got all of the main things besides clothes stored together for when I'll come to properly pack. I want to get it sorted early so I don't have to worry about what to take as I'll have my mind focused on exams.

Packed, although to be fair, going camping in a couple of weekends time so wanted to make sure I could lug the whole lot on a couple of miles hike.

Packing list for me is:

* Clothes - 4 pairs walking socks, 4 pairs inners, grundies, t shirts, spare combats, fleece, gilet (doubles as pillow), waterproof trousers, waterproof jacket

* Stove, pots (came with stove), and stove top espresso machine for those early morning espressotinis

* 10L water carrier, 2 x 1 litre Sigg bottles for spirits, large insulated cup, hip flask for on the go

* Biodegradable antibacterial liquid soap, wet wipes, and moist toilet tissue (camping luxury!)

* 2 x Antibacterial towels

* Kitchen sink

* Head torch, ordinary torch, and mini lantern for hanging in the tent

* Hangover cures, energy bars, couple of tins of beans (ultimate comfort food!)

* Tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mat

All in a 65 litre pack + slim rucksack for daytime + what I can wear (combats, walking boots etc.)

Not even thought about packing yet! Refusing to think about it until after my exams at the end of April. Once they're over, I'll whack out last year's packing list, cross off the things I didn't need / use, and then hit the shops. And the gym. Yessirrr!

If I could I would pack my bag now and sit on it waiting for the great week to start.......unfortunately life has stuck work in the way. I have been buying though and have a new lightweight fleece and 3 aluminium water bottles......oh and a new tent even though I take a camper van. It comes in handy for lost waifs and strays ( friends of my lads etc).

Started making mental lists and doing a bit of internet browsing for things like a pair of wellies (have been trying for years to get wide-calf ones but havent yet) and stocking up on essentials like baby wipes etc when they are on offer :P

Haven't packed but I have my list written as I just slightly edited last year's list. I have a divan drawer under my bed full of all my festival gear apart from clothes. Been buying the odd thing here and there and chucking it in, got some foil blankets they other day. I'll probably pack the weekend before we leave

I am sort of mentally making a list in my mind. I won't pack until just before though or I will keep adding stuff to it until it becomes ridiculous and I have far too much.

I will be taking more socks than last year, but less food.

I would quite like a duvet as well as a sleeping bag because I was soooooo cold at night last year. I think that is a bit "kitchen sinky" though so I won't. I will just freeze again.

I never pack properly until 2 or 3 days before, but I always do my shopping over the easter holidays.

Need to get a new rucksack this year, and am getting a smaller one so will have a practice pack pretty soon to make sure everything fits in OK, but seeing as i'm bringing muuuuuch less stuff, it should be fine.
