I'd love to see some of the indie landfill acts that clog up the other stage being ditched in favour of a few rock/metal acts. Sadly it ain't going to happen though. There are always a few heavier acts dotted about the fest (Black Mountain in 08 was a treat) but they are always few and far between.

Think you'll find Cradle are actually Emo, not Metal. :P

I've always had a liking for harder rock music, but completely agree that having the bigger Rock/Metal acts on the main stages at Glasto would not only be potentially dangerous, but doesn't really fit the vibe of the festival, even though as a "festival or performing arts" you would have expected almost anything to be represented.

Some less popular acts in smaller venues would be doable and potentially less dangerous/controversial. Therapy? would be a great example. Fantastic live band and would go down a storm in the JP (I know he was a fan).

Some fair points raised there. I was there for the Deftones - one of the muddy years if I recall - 97 or 98. I also remember Skunk Anansie and The Offspring playing in 95 - I still stand by my opinion though that a few heavier bands dotted around the weekend would be good (and what do you mean Maiden for "camp comedy"? Maiden are awesome :P )
