They just want your money and are happy to show it, in my opinion this rubs off on us punters and the whole atmos is much much more agressive than other festivals that I have been to.

I don't mind V, I just wish they would be more imaginative with line up, nearly every band / act on that list played Glasto last the last 2 years!!!

Are The Prodigy going for hte most festivals played in 2 years???

Pretty standard V lineup really. Predictable. Middle of the Road, generally pretty god-awful. V hasn't been cutting edge since the year they had Radiohead and Morrissey headlining. So predictable.

So, so close - but just missed! She kept turning up on my Brixton ebay searches last year as well...

It's not even the 'next big thing' anymore. Most that lineup played V 3 or 4 years ago, it's recycling the old line up with a few new pop bands chucked in to make it look like they made a little effort in getting signings.

Hmmm have Sterophonics been confirmed for any other festival? Looks promising for Glastonbury. Also The Prodigy would be nice. Oh and Goldfrapp are in there too. All the rest I'm not surprised by because they are doing the festival rounds at the moment.

V isn't a bad festival-its just a rip off at 165 pounds for only 2/3 days

Stereophonics, The Kooks, Cheryl Cole, Shed Seven, Scouting for Girls, Pixie Lott, Kate Nash, The Sugababes... the list goes on.

Even by V's standards, this is a monumentally bad line-up...

:P

(insert quote of Langdale Wolf here - i can't do it as browser is having a hissy fit)

I do tire on these boards of people putting down other festivals on principle.

At the end of the day they all serve the same function and each has their own approach. Yes, Glasto is special and unique but that doesnt make the approaches of the more commercialised ventures wrong. So far as putting down the line-ups 60% of them will be at Glasto anyway and the naysayers are probably just jealous.

I have been to Reading and wouldnt mind TITP or V but Glasto takes priority - all down to money constraints and line-ups there after. Would people please get over themselves and stop bitching about every little thing. If you don't like it don't go - simple as!

(I understand most posts on here are not anti but this is a reaction to the earlier TITP thread aswell where there were several people talking out of their behinds)

I've rarely been as uninspired as for this year's V festival. They're usually not too bad for lineups but this year's is shockingly bad.

    • To be fair @Superscally barely mentions the running thing. Very quiet about it 😘
    • I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either
    • Selfish, but I've done the 2 days I'm there.. i'll try to do the rest through the day but might get beaten to it as it's editable....    https://clashfinder.com/s/ape2026/
    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
    • And all (or all but one) of the secret sets repeats though?
