What song...

Just wondering...

I'm sure we've all witnessed the feeling when you go to a gig and before you go you're thinking - "...." will be great - or - I can't wait for them to play "...." --- then they don't even end up playing it. :P

What was your worst case of this?

Mine was probably when I went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers and they didn't play Under the Bridge. Gutted, I was - seeing as it's one of their live staples and clearly one of those songs that's best when played live - and usually a big climax - everyone was looking forward to it, and it never came.

(I'll cite Born in the U.S.A last year as another example - though I wasn't really bothered about that, but clearly people were)

:P

Justin Currie from del amitri, banged out his new album in entirity. Dont bill yourself as "justin currie from del amitri" if you have no intention of playing any del amitri songs just to sell tickets. He played roll to me as fast as he could, like 3 times the normal speed with as shit eating grin on his face knowing he was going to cut it off before the chorus. What a prick, so infuriating.

I've seen Hawkwind a few times over the years but they've never played 'Silver Machine' whilst I've been there.

I saw the Stereophonics a couple of years back, but they didn't play 'Have a Nice Day', which is my favourite of theirs

Crosby, Stills & Nash - last year. Iwas really looking forward to Suite: Judy Blue Eyes and they didn't play it. I was very upset but then when I read Q later they listed it as part of the set sio now I worry that I missed it somehow

great thread and i have 2

Orbital didnt play Lush in '94 and for one [not even remotely interesting] reason or another having seen them several times since, i never heard them play what is one of my favourite tracks of theirs.... and then they opened with it last year on the reunion tour.. a truly amazing moment

and in 2008 went and saw Massive Attack as i'd never seen them live and so wanted to see them play Unfinished Sympathy.. but then my Mrs got spooked and HAD to go back to the tent and missed them do it. Liz Fraser doing teardrop made up for it though.. you had to be there although i suspect most peeps were at jayzed
