I don't get this apparent willingness to play an opening or earlier slot. Having seen Coldplay live, a great deal of their set relies on lighting. To play early in my opinion is to plan to play a poorer set. Why would they do that? Either Chris Martin has developed a particularly effective headtorch ensemble or they'll play Thursday evening on the Pyramid?

i saw them at the park, and at the time i was in a very good moord for music as i belive shlo-mo (or however you spell it) had been on just before. anyway .. mgmt at the park were f*ckin shite. i like their recorded stuff but live ... they are really really drab. miss them and you will not regret it if you only knew the crapness of their live performance.

I thought the only redeeming feature of their JP set was the crowd during Time To Pretend and Kids. It was a great atmosphere, but I felt the band did the quinessential 'going through the motions' job during that set.

Have they got a new album coming out?

Awesome news, I am seeing them at Heaven in March, so hopefully they will have uped there live game with the new songs to could be bit more padded out. :P

...Everytime I seen Klaxons they been nothing short of great, they really seemed to have a lot of energy and the crowd was wild both times.(Although stopping people brining glow sticks killed the atmosphere a bit initially with bouncers coming into to the crowd to grab them off people.)

Saying that it could be that they were one of my first gigs, so it was more about the atmosphere when you first go so that could have effected it and the 2nd time wasn't that long after so maybe I was just young and naive? :P

I enjoyed them at the time though, great was a bit of an over statement maybe :P

After MGMT at the JP in 2008, I walked away thinking 'that was really shite' as people around me were singing the riff to 'Kids'. I overheard people saying 'wow - best performance of the festival so far!' or 'that was AMAZING!'.

I have never been so bewildered by other people's thoughts on an act I'd just seen. They were absolutely awful - I don't get why other people couldn't see that.

I posted my thoughts on here afterwards and loads of people said they'd loved that set too.

So this year, I might actually go back on 29 years of moral principles and go on the drugs.
