How much do you think you spend at a festival?

Hello All!

Just a quick question for a university project that I am doing and that is how much do you think you spend over the course of a festival weekend? (excluding ticket price)

It would be great if as many people as possible could answer this =]

Cheers

Joe

Depends on the festival. At Reading I only spend £30 because all I needed to buy was a programme and food & beer from Tescos. Glasto, I'll probably eat more festival food, so will probably go over £100 at least.

So how much I spend depends on what the festival food is like and how convenient it is to get to a supermarket.

2 smallish meals a day?!? I normally have around 4 at Glasto! Any kind of amazing food you can think of (but that's a whole other thread..)

I probably take and spend around £200. But I also take a lot of booze and other assorted items with me that bumps that up a fair amount. Maybe £300? So about £500 including ticket?

Bargain really :P

I'vr been to 2 so far and take £200 cash and usually come away with significant change.

That's based on being there from Thursday and having 2 meals and a few pints a day

Meals tend to be between £4 and £6 and pints I can't remember - £3 or £3.50 for Gaymers or Tuborg i think but 3 Brothers festi-strength for £10 for sure though. Cosmic!

I'd recommend taking extra cash then you don't have to waste time (and £2 a time) getting it on site.

£250, but typically only get through about 60% of that since I bring lots of homebrew which cuts alcohol costs. Eat little there too - only buy 1 meal a day really. Seldom buy much stuff either - maybe the off T-Shirt, CD, objet d'art.

I take rum and just add to coke for during the day. we also take food for cooked breakfasts whilst we're there.

I spend some money on booze (you've got to have the ciders), and one major meal a day. Last year spent only £80 - and that was spending freely! I think I spent about £120 the year before.

I always take about £200 though - I never like to feel I'm on a budget when i'm there.

I usually take about £500 but dont always spend it. I like to have more than I need just incase I wanna buy a tshirt or something stupid depending on the mood or state Im in. There's so many choices of food to buy so I dont bother taking any with me.

Its like a holiday so I take more than I need so you dont have too worry then. :P

£250 is more than enough for Wednesday moring to Sunday night. I take no food other than a packet of biscuits, and eat like a king from he stalls. I carry a 500ml pop bottle which I decant wine into from a box in my tent every time I'm there, and supplement my ale/lager/cider with this if I'm not near a bar.

WOOOOW

I cant believe how much you guyas spend.

I went last year for the first time.

I took around £70

we took all our own beer

With £15 a day you can easily get two meals

bring a bit of food with you and all your beer and you can do it for that cheap, or cheaper.

Worst comes to worst there is always he free daal at the harri krishna tent.....

    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
    • Norwich times if anyone is interested
