Got a bit of info off the local forums about probable stages and positions for some of the bands/DJs. The organiser (Chokri Mahassine) said in an interview on Tuesday in a Belgian paper that Bloody Beetroots will be closing the Main Stage on Friday night, playing after the Prodigy, a co-headliner tba and Eels. I'm pretty happy with that as it'll free up a late slot in the Boiler Room plus it should mean Plastikman and the Prodigy won't clash. Chokri also said the xx will headline the Marquee the same night, with Kele playing before them.

Love the way someone closes the stage after the headliners, really good way of doing things. You didn't pick up anything about when Flaming Lips are playing by any chance? Hoping against hope they don't clash with Iron Maiden.

Getting my tickets soon, hopefully. Just need to have a nosy at my bank balance. Getting the biggest group I've ever had going this year (at least 6 people from the UK, and more travelling in Belgium), it's gonna be amazing :P

They apparently said so in an interview in a local magazine or something but it hasn't been officially confirmed. Rumour has it some new names will be announced on monday when tickets go on sale in shops in Belgium so Snow Patrol might be part of that. We Have Band have self-confirmed for Friday and someone mentioned We Are Scientists are playing but it's not on any of their sites so don't know if that's true or not??

Yessss.... finally taken the plunge and made up my mind to buy a Pukkelpop ticket!

The dissapointing (to say the least) Exit lineup so far ceratinly helped on that front. And i am already buzzing for Belgium.

Just thought i would see if i could also shed anymore light on this i heard on the blog on pukkelpop's website..... i read last night that there are some more band announcements due on monday? is this true?

Would love to hear some more so soon.

Think you must have been typing as I was :P

Monday is what people are saying but I've also heard the announcement (whenever it comes) could be mostly Belgian bands/DJs but we'll just have to wait and see. Miike Snow has also confirmed himself for Thursday.

Hopefully but it's difficult to say. They made one announcement last year that was mostly Belgian bands but Vampire Weekend were also part of it. There's still a few bands we know/suspect are playing but haven't been officially confirmed, such as Fun Lovin Criminals, Dan Le Sac vs Scoobius Pip, de jeugd van teganwoordig, Raised Fist and Snow Patrol, so some or all of them could be part of this next announcement??

Edit: Think I read your post wrong as I was just talking about this next announcement. There's about another 100 bands/DJs to come and around 60 of those will be international artists.

Ah sweet yeah man, i was just meaning in general in the run up to the fest.

Wicked, nice to know there will be plenty more talent being added to an already not too shabby lineup :P

Just need to get as many of my mates rounded up..

Also, with regards to buying your ticket (i've got mine) i heard it 'almost; sold out last year so i know it would be a rough estimate but when do you reckon it might sell out this time around? considering anniversary year etc. ?

this is so true! this line up, for me an australian, the best ever! the exit line up is ok for me but shithouse compared to others i should have gone to but i bought my tix when crystal castles announced they were playing and now stupidly looked at the very average lineup unfold before me....but despite this it does look amazing.

If and when it sells out seems to be the million dollar question at the moment but the honest answer is that no one can say for sure. I think the organisers will give a heads up if tickets are running low but the best advice is get a ticket as soon as you can then it won't matter if it sells out or not :P

I've been reading the Exit thread and obviously seen that a lot of people are complaining about the line up. If you're into dance music then there's loads of stuff worth seeing and I personally don't think it's too bad. Having said that, I wouldn't swop it for Pukkelpop but then again I haven't really seen any other festival this year that has a better line up for my tastes. I really like the look of Melt but the friends I go with aren't into dance music so Pukkelpop always has enough to keep us all happy.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
