with zeppelin and stones!!! honestly how do you beat u2? in terms of massive bands...you have the option of the stones, zeppelin and floyd i say...how do i get the dvd of it might get loud off the net?

seeing as saturday has become the 'premier' night it does make sense that a truly massive band will have band will be playing, how else do you top U2.

having said that, i find it hard to believe that plant will do the zep thing.

but my, ftw if he does!!

I really cannot see them playing Glasto. Plant needs to be massively convinced to ever play with them again. They have had ridiculously big offers (which Glasto could never match) to play Knebworth and US stadia taht Glasto could never match. And lets not pretend that it will be John-Paul Jones making any of the decisions about it.

heavily possible. They have set the standard by announcing u2 on the first night! last night always for biggest acts, as Stones are still favourites to headline and both JPJ and Plant have dropped lines they want to be there, what's saying they won't for such a historic one off event? when will the next headliner be announced?

and that jimmy page was talking about playing next year but avoided touring questions, it seems to obvious that itll happen! they all click the stories, glasto 40th anniversary, itll never happen agin!

Cheers for the heads up. There is not a chance it will get shown in the cinema's by me, so I will need to resort to the same measures as I've really wanted to see this since I was trailer ages back.

There Will Be Blood was not even shown a month after it had won the Oscar, even though it was Cineworld multiplex (not that they're the greatest but it's got 9screens, could understand if there's only one screen and they want the blockbuster).

Even Le Donk and Scor Zay Zee hasn't been shown anywhere (most recent Shane Meadows films, Dead Man's Shoes, This Is England).

Back to the main topic, Led Zeppelin or the Stones are the only ones that I really want for a headliner, both would be immense but is too unrealistic. Stones are bound to headline at some point, Zeppelin time is running out and the 40th anniversary and all that, plus the fact it looks like JPJ and Robert Plant will be there, means we're pretty much at the "now or never" point.

On one hand I'm hoping it does happen. Glasto has a lot to live up to with such a great lineup last year and this year being the big anniversary means it needs to at least be as good a lineup as last year. U2, Rolling Stones and Led Zepp would push it into the 'once in a lifetime' festival greatness.

On the other hand I don't want to get my hopes really high to find out the headliners that are finally confirmed are kinda average. I know there's more to glasto than headliners on the pyramid, but all this hype around the headliners always has a danger of imploding when the final confirmations are announced.

So for now I'll remain quietly optimistic and try not to think about it too much.

U2 the Rolling Stones and Led Zep would be a great headline for the festival and there has not been a better one in modern history ie after the big stadium tours where bands can make shed loads of cash. I can not see it happening thought epecially Led Zep but this does not mean that with all the other stages headliners that it will not be the greatest line up in modern times.

all this spin reminds me of the run up to the O2 reunion... I am but he isn't he is thinking of it but we are... no we aren't doing a led zep reunion etc etc.

It is getting us all talking and these guys as we know are the masters of spin... outside of the Labour party circa 97-03 :P
