The Strokes, Blondie, Orbital, Squeeze

Having just logged on to eFests and read this story I was thinking along the same lines. Timing & proximity etc.

I was talking to someone at this year's Glasto who had a backstage pass and they said that Squeeze were rumoured to be doing a secret set somewhere on the Sunday but wouldn't say any more. Never heard any stories afterwards that it happened so perhaps it didn't. Anyway, always loved Squeeze and would love to see them somewhere suitably intimate. Possibly even an acoustic set? I can hope I suppose.

The Strokes playing would be awesome. Hopefully headlining the Other Stage on Friday night. Should mean there will finally be a new album out next summer. Wouldn't be surprised if a few of them played solo shows as well. I don't really like Julian's new album but a bit of Albert Hammond Jr would go down nicely in my book.

I can see both Blondie and Squeeze playing slots on the Pyramid. Would love to see Blondie. For some reason I don't think Orbital will play, but I'd love it if they did.

Come on Orbital!! Please.

Oh and strokes would be a no brainer for the other stage as they would pull a very sizeable crowd vs any Pyramid Headliner.

These two and i would be very happy, But then where would that put the chemicals i suppose if orbital were to play they'd headline other stage so it will be one or the other of chemicals/orbital?

i'm not sure what this means for the strokes. i guess it makes it more likely. but not likely by any stretch. for example, pixies last year looked like a dead cert for glasto cos of IoW. one thing that people seem to be overlooking is that as good as confirms orbital!!! wicked :P

    • Hi Everyone!   I need your help. I'm trying work out who was playing at The Wishing Well at 3am on the Monday morning at the 2025 festival - this was once the official setlist had ended. The music was down tempo, bass heavy, kept evolving, just mesmerising. Anyone have any ideas? and/or was there as well?

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
