Emily Eavis tweeted me

So I asked EE as a bit of a Joke on Twitter ...

"How's getting Led Zeppelin for Saturday night going?"

And she replied:

"plans ticking along nicely thank you..though can't be band specific yet.."

Obviously it means absolutely nothing, but in my warped optimistic world the fact she didn't laugh at me means i read this as, yup Led Zeppelin booked although i can't tell anyone yet ... *wink* *wink*

Even though she's not being very specific, I bloody hope this is an indication that they might be playing! She's given 'hints' about Pulp on there too (or at least you could interpret it like that). Someone tweeted her saying:

@emilyeavis so is Pulp really going to play at the greatest place on earth next year? I came all the way from LA this year and will again <3

It certainly wasn't anything to do with Pulp. They'd defo been no convo between Jarvis and Glasto about Pulp at that time.

Emily isn't daft enough to give anything away, via twitter or anything else. If and when she does want to say something she'll be specific I'm sure.

All this reminds me of the (fake) 'Michael Eavis' on twitter back in June, that some people just didn't want to believe as a fake, and kept inventing bits and pieces for what that fake's tweets were meant to be hinting at.

So it turns out me and Emily are getting on like a house on Fire. Tweeted her when U2 were announced to congratulate her on the booking and to say that with Zep on Sat and Stevie Wonder on Sunday they would have perfection and she tweeted me on Monday to say ..

"I like your style"

So not only am I definitely in there, but I take that as Zep and Stevie are as good as confirmed.

Awesome!

    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
