I can imagine that Glastonbury is always special. I don't speak with much experience as I only went for the first time this year but man is it a big, strange, wonderful place. You'll have the time of your life.

Oh, and welcome to Glasto-bating-central. Get stuck in.

A tip: Don't treat it like a normal music festival.

Try to have the most unique experience possible. When its mid afternoon, try and go to the greenfields or do something you'd never think of doing. The chance is that you'll be really surprised. Visit the stone circle at least once to see the sunrise. Play in the mud if it rains as well! Just do everything you wouldnt normally do and you will still have an amazing time :P

Yeah I'm going for the first time as well so will throw out my questions here.

How long does it take to drive from Swansea to Glastonbury?

Is there some way where you don't have to go all the way around Brighton?

shuttle bus from the town to the festival - too packed to get on?

Boots vs. Wellies?

Answers greatly appreciated

Welcome to the boards Glasto10

You shouldn't go anywhere near Brighton when driving from Swansea, I think you mean Bristol.

Info on travel here: http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/info...ing-here/by-car

The carpark post codes are:

west carparks is BA6 8NE. east carparks is BA4 6TA, so you can google map routes.

I prefer boots to wellies, they can be waterproofed, you can use gaiters if it is very wet, they are much more comfortable and supportive.

Welcome on board mate :P

You'll find everyone on here is argumentative as anything, but when at Glastonbury itself it's (generally) all smiles and happy faces from everyone. Don't worry a bout planning it that much, don't worry about the weather or where to camp, you'll love it!

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.

    • I don't think I'm alone as a Scotland fan that there is no way that I could possibly fall asleep knowing we're about to play our first World Cup game in 28 years! Pure adrenaline is keeping me wide awake (and plenty of rum)!
