Please enlighten me, 'cos I quite like the storms too (at a good viewing distance of course!)

Unless I have this wrong, my memory of the last 10 years:

2000 - Bit of rain Thursday night, sunny the rest of the festival, good conditions

2002 - sunny the whole weekend - dry and crsuty

2003 - sunny the whole weekend, bar some drizzle sunday early evening - dry and crusty

2004 - rain thursday night, friday morning, and abit during Macca (sunday night?) - wellies needed all weekend

2005 - awful awful awful thursday night, but then OK - wellies all weekend.

2007 - peed it down all weekend non stop. horrid.

2008 - my apologies, holiday in France for me <regrets>

2009 - thunder and lightning thurs, and rain late sunday - lovely the rest of the time.

2010 - ?????!!

Dear Happy Chappy and Musiclove123,

No NO NO NONONNO NONONONO NO!

No rain. No storms. No thunder. No lightning. Not this year, not next year and not ever. Kindly get your coat and remove yourselves from the thread so we don't have to have a scene.

Thank you.

The Glasto Sun Worshippers.

NO RAIN. NO COMPROMISE.

That do it?

Storms, thunder and lightning and torrential rain are great and very exciting... on the other 359 days of the year when we aren't a mass of 170,000 people on a farm hoping to enjoy the best long weekend of the year.

Can't believe I've not been in this thread yet, but I appear to be serenely confident that it will be decent this year. Is it two years of fun that have led to complacency? I don't know, but I might not even TAKE my wellies this time.*

* - yeah, right!

As this is now 44 pages long I thought I would save some searching (I get sent to page 17 if I go via the search engine) and post the great JACKONE's blog here JACKONE Netweather Glasto 2010

It looks like the good weather Dr is not prepared to make a commitment beyond a little less than 50/50 chance of rain at moment x

Personally I am still hoping it will rain a bit before glastonbury - the last time the weather was this good before the festival we had to stay in our campervan all morning playing poker and hoping none of our friends in their tents were getting zapped by the lightning show (they were marginally above the flood line in Pennards but only just)

Did someone mention cows?

They get a daily supply of cool drinking water and probably a cold hose-down should it get too hot. I've even seen stories of such creatures being given ice lollies during heatwaves.

And now they want rain on top of that? Greedy bovine bastards.

No rain. Not for the us. Not for the cows. Not for anyone.

    • The Radio Dept.?! That's a surprise to me, they haven't toured in like 8 years. Hopefully they will announce some more shows.
    • I was assuming September in Stirling might have a different issue tbf in the form of it just pissing it down.
    • Yeah so many of mine seem to be just France v Spain in one semi and England/Brazil v Argentina in the other. But the fact those combos are the obvious ones mean it feels unlikely that'll happen because in World Cup history, you very rarely end up with what pre-tournament looks like the obvious final 4. We all see teams outperform and underperform. Which one is the fall guy is a different matter.   I've said elsewhere that for me, there's a hierarchy of Spain, France and Argentina as the 3 strongest looking, then England and Portugal, then Brazil and Germany, but that overall, they'd be the 7 likeliest to win. So I dunno, maybe this will be the time the Netherlands avenge the failure of total football in 1974 and achieve what they couldn't achieve through whatever the f**k Nigel de Jong was with his 2010 final karate moves.
    • Oh I think Infantino should resign. His handling of the whole WC process has been an utter shitshow. But you know. That would require him having integrity or something.
    • Good Charlotte would be fine third down or subbing. If they can get a bigger sub and still get GC, they’ll play third down.
