Not wanting to piss on anyone's seaweed, but the forecasts still aren't looking great

Monday 7 June 2010 to Sunday 13 June 2010

Warmth gives way to more warmth

High pressure will hang on just long enough to bring a hot and sunny period. But change is Most definatley not on the way.

At least the farmers and gardeners will be pleased, because as low pressure edges in from the west, the Extra sunshine will gather from the west.

The breakdown to just as good, equally nice conditions looks like being constant, but eventually we will all have seen some more sunshine. Temperatures stay somewhere near the norm for this time of year. Good warmweather...

Monday 14 June 2010 to Sunday 27 June 2010

high summer

The sun is now at its strongest, heating things up quickly given half a chance. But low pressure, taking up residence miles away from our shores, will help keep the warm air up and no downpours.

This combination of heat and more heat causes the atmosphere to become increasingly highly charged with heat; and thunder and lightning Will be nowhere near. Expect a beutiful Glastonbury!

Twas very hot in the build up to 2005, and that continued right up to Friday morning when the mother of all storms seemed to be centered on my very tent.

Yes, but that was a complete freak event. Even if we did have similar weather in the week before that, the chances of a storm like that happening are as good as Kasabian growing an ounce of talent - VERY unlikely.

Apologies if anyone has posted this (this thread is huge and I am sure someone has) - regardless of what anyone else predicts this is the one I am believing

Weather

June

Temperature: Slightly above average

Precipitation: Slightly below average

A spell of rather warm and dry weather is expected to develop early on as high pressure builds across the country. This is likely to break with showers or longer spells of rain returning during the second week of the month. As well as turning less settled temperatures will also fall. Towards the middle of the month drier and warmer conditions may well begin to return.

The second half of the month is expected to bring a lot of fine and settled weather to southern parts in particular, although the north should also have fine weather at times. The settled conditions may well last for much of the second half of the month, possibly becoming very warm at times in the south. Overall temperatures should be above average during the entire period.

I think 2005 is the only nasty one which has arrived in the middle of a summer that had looked OK.

97, 98, & 2007 were all generally horrible summers - in that sense 2005 was a freak event.

I have to say that this year is looking very much like the last two so far. I think we'll get some rain - but not enough to kill it.

OH! The Thursday of 2005!!:wub::wub:

What a gorgeous day!!

The last 2 years were ok, and I'd take those over any extreme conditions but can't we have it a few degrees warmer?

Not that any rain is acceptable you understand!!

I find the storms quite exciting- if they are overnight that is and you don't get caught in it! Lots of thunder and lightning :D

This weeks weather starting from Tuesday would be perfect-not too hot but just right with chance of light rain on the Sunday

    • Had a lovely day in Prague now off to the festival. Very excited hope we all have fun regardless of weather!!
    • Iran are winning. If US aren't going to do the full invasion thing, then they may as well admit defeat and do what is needed to get the strait opened. Iran obviously have decided they can take any pain and stick it out as they have all the cards with this Hormuz thing. But obviously Trump can't admit defeat, and Israel just want this to keep going...and maybe it will carry on like this till after elections in both US and Israel towards the end of this year. God knows how the global economy will be by then.
