I'm pretty sure that there were more on the forums this morning than last year for ticket day, tho I can't be 100% sure as I don't have a record of what it was last year.

As for See tickets learning something .... the load here would have been tiny compared to what See Tickets have to cope with.

that was my stupid fault for switching back on some of the forum features I'd turned off earlier sooner than traffic could cope with. Doh!

i very much doubt it was that much. Last year on ticket day See sold around 65,000 tickets, so I'd guess that means something like 30,000 users hitting them.

Of course, sales might be higher this year. I'll find out tomorrow.

GFL claim over half the tickets sold on their Facebook page.

Unless there's been a huge upgrade to See's systems since last year (which there might have been), they wouldn't have been able to sell that many that fast. It took longer last year to sell the 65,000 they sold on the first day.

It was definately more stable when maintaining existing connections this year - only the load balancer seemed a little fickle (no nodes to service request error message). My guess is that they have moved to 64-bit and can now maintain a great many more connections and transaction state information in bags more of memory.
