saw em in 96 and they were incredible. since then the whole "we are an important band, innit" schtick has spoiled them for me. and the fact that their fans are total bog warriors.

Except Reckoner. Which is basically the best song ive heard in the last five years.

I thought the Reading set was amazing. You have to remember they are such an eclectic band. Yes some of their stuff can be "dancy", if you can call it that, after all Thom does listen to a lot of dance stuff, while Jhonny is clasically orientated, and this reflects in their sound. For me the best band on the planet bar none. To me they are gods and i love everything they have done. I would love to see them at next years Glasto, saw them in London 2008 and they were amazing. I am struggling to see however how Mr Eavis would get around them not bringing that magnificent stage set as it seems to lend so much to the spectacle. Although for me, they could play in the cow shed and they would still be great!

Anyway, Thom has now announced his new band:

In an attempt to be even more of a pretentious c**t, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has formed a solo band featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea (who'd play with any old prick who shows any interest in him), his longtime production collaborators Nigel Godrich and Joey Waronker (aptly, very close to w*nker) and multi-instrumentalist musical masturbator Mauro Refosco and plans to bore the pants of people with his self indulgent warbling and incessant head bobbing by playing two live shows with them next week.

Since my last post in this topic I've been getting into Radiohead a bit and hope they headline the Pyramid Stage on Sunday, in the "best of British" slot. Shame they don't do anything off Pablo Honey though, with the occasional exception of Creep, as I'd like to hear Ripcord or Anyone Can Play Guitar live.

First off , I am not a huge Radiohead fan ( seen em a few times ) , but their peformance at Leeds

was inspiring and I thought they were the best band by far ( which was not difficult consigering KOL

and Arctic Monkeys ) , but they were good, very good

Their lo energy stage set was brilliant by the way !

I know I have posted plenty in the past about them playing , but that was more to do some peoples

opioins that Glastonbury is a poorer festival wothout em, and that some would only go to Glastonbury to see R/H amongst plenty of others.

So if they do get booked , I will be very pleased , will watch em - But reserved the right to have

a go at any posters that get carried away .

:D

That's utterly amazing! If Radiohead don't play this is the only thing i'd accept as a viable replacement! Anyone see Thom on his own at Latitude? I think he'll be at Glasto, be it with RH or with these guys.

Just read on nme.com that they are recording an album over the winter , which is better than

them all doing solo stuff I guess.

So I guess that could bring them closer to a Glasto spot by a teeny bit !

Gahhhhh. I love Radiohead, but have seen them a lot, and I don't think it could top 2003 (a personal all-time favourite gig). But, although I'm wanting to avoid the Pyramid as much as possible next year....I'd be drawn to them....so I don't want them to play.

I think.

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
    • Out of interest keep seeing messages saying last 12 hours etc… to buy you full weekend tickets.  Whats that about? Do they take them off sale early?
