Probably. Not really a. Fan, but unlike other bands I criticise I can see why people like them. Musicly they're sound, I just don't like Matt Bellamy's vocals. Plus his name is Bellamy so he reminds me of that money grabbing Welsh c*nt currently plying his trade on the blue side of Manchester.

I like muse live but dont think they will ever beat the perfomrnace of the year they played second headliers to the foos in the rain. To me muse isnt a bad choice but they seem to be on a list of rotating festival headliners with arctic monkeys, kings of leon and the killers. Wouldnt mind seeing some new headliers although I can understand from a busines spoint of view why they go for the safe options.

Does it not depend on how many festivals you have been to though?

I know it must be boring in a way to see the same over and over again, but they have to cater for people who have not been to many festivals.

If a person chooses to go to one festival for four/five years in a row you wouldn't expect to see the same headline act two times, yeah maybe sub-headliner to headliner. But if you go to many festivals year in year out it is obvious that you will bump into these regular headline bands as either all the festivals want them or they are the only available.

If you are gonna bump into these bands regular and your still attending the festivals regardless then watch music on the other stages, I spent a lot of time this year moving from stage to stage to see bands and was impressed by the majority of what I saw.

You might in a few years be watching these bands headline, and it feels more intimate on these stages

Some bands dont play near many people often enough and festivals are the only way to see them.

without wishing to turn this into a footy debate, its a bit unfair to call craig bellamy a money grabber.for all his flaws, aside from getting arrested/getting thrown out of nightclubs/abusing people/acting arrogant, etc.he usually leaves a club cos he's fallen out with his manager/assaulted a team mate/slagged of the club/fans/etc and not just for a pay rise(unlike the rest of man citys signings)

as i said, not a pleasant character but also not a moneygrabber(tho he prob did have a massive pay rise every time he moved clubs,ha ha)

I cant help but feel a tad gutted about the new album too, it just takes a few listens to get used too.

Also i reckon now that The Libertines have been ruled out there is an even bigger chance that Muse will take one of the headline slots, possibly the Sunday. :)

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
