Cider by the Gallon

I noticed a lot of people this year walking around the site with gallon and half gallon containers of cider. Anyone know where they got these from? I'm guessing its a regional thing as we don't have anywhere around here that sells cider by the gallon.

Any online places where I could get some??

I got mine from here http://www.hecksfarmhousecider.co.uk/ - not available online but well worth a visit before or after the festival. The perry is incredible and the cider was amazing too.

Incredible yes...but VERY good at inducing Glastobelly within half an hour of drinking it's peary lusciousness. A fellow eFestivaller thought she had food poisoning after eating sushi and following it with a half a pint ofthe single varietal Perry...had to inform her the next day it was the cider...not the fish! :D

Burrowhill deliver VERY quickly to your pad and it is only £6 for 4 litres of cider bus loveliness. they even sell the sachets for the spicy cider...BUT you MUST remember to put in lemon and sugar into the mix when making it or it doesnt taste the same!

I saved myself a fortune taking BH in tanks to Glasto rather than spending out £3.50 per pint!

Erm, I think it is max 3 days. One time I ordered and it was in my lap less than 24 hours later. A week before Glasto this year and I had my BH on the doorstep at 9 am, 2 nights after I pressed Buy on the website :(

And bugger being at the bus...you can have it all year round in your own living room and it all tastes pretty similar tbh.

Harrow Strongbow Man, Venus, Nina3d and me polished off a 4 litre tank very quickly at the Big G on Sunday this year...needless to say we were then witnessed dancing like loons to the Bhangra band playing out at the bandstand having a bloody marvellous time indeed!

Thank heavens for the cloud overhead that day so we could all play catch up on the drinking! Could NOT face my BH tanks in that sun and heat on the Saturday, no sirree! (The 5 litre Black Rat keg ended up being dumped in the end! We just couldnt face it!) :D

Thanks for the links I think I'll have to try the Burrowhill's. I'll have to do a few trial runs with the delivery as it supposed to be drunk within 7 days so I need it to arrive just before we leave for Glastonbury.

I'd love to be able to pop into the local cider farms but we tend to drive overnight arriving around 7ish so there's no real time to go cider shopping.

Oh yeeeeessss indeedy burrowhill.jpg:Dhomer%20drool.jpg

Just like the Bus but in the privacy and comfort of your own home and delivered in a discrete brown envelope package !

There also used to be a kinda stall selling 4/5l of scrumpy at Castle Cary each year but it's not been there for the last couple of years or so unfortunately. Probably due to the increasing number of 'casualties' due to peeps enjoying their purchase whilst waiting (then staggering/falling over/sleeping/whatevering) for the shuttle bus :D

... wanders off to find Mr.Credit-card purely to check that he's still in good working order and all that ... coooeeee, Mr.Credit-Card, I have a li'l job for you mate :(

We bought some cider from a local shop in a container that held 8-9 pints. I think it was called Black Rat cider.

We got 1 each, and on the Thursday (already having consumed quite a bit of alcohol) we decided to play a drinking game at the Cinema Tent. The film "Yes Man" starring Jim Carrey was on and the rule was everytime the word "yes" was mentioned we had to take a big gulp of the drink.

By the end of the film, I had drank all of the cider and can hardly remember anything about the film.
