We had every intention of taking our tent home last year but after wrestling with my sleeping bag for like an hour tryin to get it into a stupid bag my immediate thought was f**k this am away home to sleep and evry1 else agreed.

I dont feel guilty for doing it either, 3 days, no sleep, smelly... give me a break!!

Yep. £5 on a second-hand perfectly functioning tent vs. £20 for a new one?

Or £20 on a very nice second-hand perfectly functioning tent that cost over £80 new?

No. You are quite correct. No one ever wants to save money and everyone always buy new tents for under £20.

:D

so you think people will turn up to glastonbury without a tent, and the first thing they do, whilst still carrying all their luggage, is walk to the 2nd hand tent stall (assuming they can find it) on the off chance they might be able to save 15 or 20 quid? What if they get there and all the tents are sold out?

Or, they could save all this hassle and pay £20 (or less) on a tent before arriving and save themselves an enormous amount effort and uncertainty.

You are as deranged as she is.

I love my Quechua 3 man pop up tent.

If any f**ker tried to dump it after the festival, slash it, wee in it, take a dump in it, vomit over it, try to intravenously inject it, stroke it (it's mine - hands off, punks) or look at it in a funny way, I'll send William of Walworth over with a 300 page dossier on the merits of a dry Glastonbury.

Stay the f**k away from my tent. I love it. And here it is, in all it's glory:

(That's my wife in that photo by the way. The tent is 50% hers too - and she is one scary lady when angry. You have been warned.)

Aha. Moving the goalposts I see. An often used tactic of the proven wrong t'interweb user.

Note: I was not agreeing with the OP. I was disagreeing with your absolute and patently wrong claim.

There are ways that recycling and selling on tents could be made to work. But don't bother your brain with trying to ponder that one just continue on with your disposable landfill mindset. There's a good kid.

I f**king love you. Where do you live? I want to tickle and hug you.

Notice how it's just a few blokes who are being negative here, I can't work out if it's a defestist attitude or just wanting to start an arguement?

whoa ..... you have loads of words, but they're ultimately no less negative than anything that's being said to you.

You were on/around site for days. You could have packed up some of these tents and made a difference (however small). Did you?

And further .... you moan about your stuff getting chucked out by ######, suggesting that the guy who threw it out had no right to do that. And elsewhere you mention some stuff you picked up from Jazzworld, yet you have no idea if anyone planned to come back for it - much like the guy did who chucked out your stuff.

While you clearly have loads of energy, perhaps it would be worth channelling some of it into rationalising your actions to match your thoughts, and making those thoughts and actions consistent?

A fine looking number I think we can all agree. I could quite easily imagine myself pulling open the old flaps and slipping into that, especially when it was wet. I'd even take my boots off.

However, I wonder whether you could do all the collecting, cleaning, checking, repairing, collating and repacking for less than £30 per tent, while paying a fair UK wage.

to be fair, people could be paid £10 an hour and do all of that and be earning a decent wage.

Oh come off it. I could have written much worse. Like the old thing not being able to handle my immense girth and it being too much of a tight squeeze and how I might have to enter from the rear.

But I didn't want to go off topic.
